Vinyl headache from hell!!!
Sorry to hear about this. My first thought would be to make sure that there's no physical damage on those records, if it happens only on some records and only at the beginning.
hi anbody have a wood record mat ?

FR66s vs Ikeda IT-407 CR tonearms
The function of the knob with the finger screw is to adjust the lever so that it is level when the cartridge is at the beginning of the record. This allows the anti-skate force to be calibrated regardless of how the tonearm is rotated horizontally...
FR66s vs Ikeda IT-407 CR tonearms
Here is a picture of FR64fx anti-skate:https://oshiete.xgoo.jp/_/bucket/oshietegoo/images/media/b/1229872_5497e546339ce/M.jpg And here is IT-407:http://img.ukaudiomart.com/uploads/large/1747444-ikeda-it-407-with-fidelity-research-b60-base.jpg
FR66s vs Ikeda IT-407 CR tonearms
Regarding the material, the Ikeda Labs website is particularly uninformative, only saying "Hybridization of the material of the main part" (Google translation), which seems to indicate that it's not pure stainless steel or aluminum.http://www.isla...
FR66s vs Ikeda IT-407 CR tonearms
What are the 345 & 407 made from? The construction overall looks closer to FR64fx & FR66fx than to FR64s & FR66s.This review says 345 & 407 are made from stainless steel:https://www.stereophile.com/content/listening-128 This review...
Advice on best match MC Cartidges for these tonearms
@dover 's point is a good one: If you want to have multiple tonearms / cartridges in your system, changing between them should be easy. I have a turntable with three tonearms and I use one for mono, one for chamber & choral (more open & re...
Advice on best match MC Cartidges for these tonearms
There have been many others interested, though, and the range of cartridges seems to go from MM cartridges similar to mine to  Denons and Koetsus:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/micro-seiki-ma-505-arm-how-good-is-it https://forum.audiogon.c...
Advice on best match MC Cartidges for these tonearms
I have an MA-505LS, but I've mostly used it with MM cartridges to listen to classical. It should match well with a broad range of MC cartridges, though not necessarily with the heaviest & lowest compliance. I tried an SPU, but couldn't balance...
SAEC Making Tonearms Again!
Some people really like the SAEC tonearms and don't seem to mind the alignment. Here’s Miyajima Lab’s reference system where they refer to the SAEC WE308 as having the "structure of an ideal arm" (this particular headshell does not allow twisting ...
Fidelity Research FR-64x
@chakster Good to hear you're enjoying it. Have you tried other cartridges? How do you like it compared to other tonearms?
Fidelity Research FR-64x
@dover Since the torque created by the mass of the cartridge that you're trying to balance is force x distance, a larger counterweight closer to the pivot can have the same torque but lower moment of inertia. Ok. Thanks.
Fidelity Research FR-64x
@nandric Sorry! I meant @chakster. He acquired an FR64fx to use with his FR7 & SPU.And regarding the mechanics, since you are adjusting both the distance and the mass so that they balance exactly the same thing on the other side, it's not obvi...
Fidelity Research FR-64x
@invictus005IMO, silver is actually better when it comes to tonearm wire because of the low fragile cartridge signal. Good copper has lower resistance than silver:https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/cg1003808 Anyone paying $1000-$2000 for an FR64...
Fidelity Research FR-64x
As indicated by others, $150 for FR64fx is a steal. For these older tonearms and other older products, silver is probably better. For current products, I products I prefer high-quality copper.@mulveling I currently have a Graham Phantom Supreme 10...
