Naim CD5i a decent upgrade? knownothing, my college budget is pretty lackluster too. I have been putting this system together for about 6 years. It has gone through numerous changes; including amps, speakrs, cd player, etc. Through my trading, buying, and selling, I have fin...

Right channel cuts out Please Help So it has happened 2 times all together. I am hoping it may be because of a heat problem, or a cable. It seems strange for such a new amp to have capacitor problems. Since there are 4 caps per channel, wouldnt it be rare for all to fail? Maybe it ...

Cable upgrade, please help audioquest I have looked at the silver streak and alpha core, but they both seem to sell for about 100 dollars used. I do not know if I would want to pay that high of price...
The ONIX XCD-99 CD Player ... any new reports Well all I can comment on is the onix xcd-88. I don't have it anymore, but it was a really great cd player. The bass was a little lackluster compared to my arcam. But the mids and highs on the onix were really remarkable. I paid 220 brand new. WOW.
My first impressions of my Portal Panache It drives my Tannoys to ear bleeding levels at barely 11 o'clock. Normal listening is at around 8.
? Integrated amp, rich warm midrange, tight bass Strange, I think the Portal has amazing warmth in the midrange, compared to NAD it was night and day. I wonder if YBA would do the trick...
Best Amp for Sonus Faber Cremona Series I have heard the cremonas with the newer Classe Integrated amp (CAP 2100) and thought it sounded great. I really love sonus faber and generaly agree that they like a lot of current. I am would like to see how my portal panache can handle the cremo...
Arcam CD73t or Rega Planet 2000 I have heard some say they like the sound of the 72t more than the 73...I cannot verify that, but I can say that I enjoy the sound of the 72t tremendously.
Portable CD player with Digital Output Check out the I-river Imp series. The cd player I have from them, the imp 550 kicks serious butt. I can't say enough about this cd player. And it has line out and optical out. It is also razer thin.http://www.iriver.com/html/product/prpa_product.a...
proper burn in for cd player I think there is something to burn-in. I bought a brand new onix 88 player and thought it sounded way to lean when I first put it in my system. My older yamaha I thought sounded better. After about a week of leaving it on, it settled in and really...
Awful sound from B&W's: Break In needed? Do make sure they are wired correctly; I had this problem with a pair of tannoys. Very harsh treble and brittle sound that made them sound like crap. The midrange was very strange and basically I hated the speaker. Found out my amp was sending out...
Bryston B60 If I were you I would get the free 60 day trial for the Portal Panache. Or just buy the demo unit Joe offers, which I think has a 30 day return... The portal to me is a better buy then the Bryston, and also offers the headphone output. Then try pi... |
