Best monitor speakers for Cary SLI-80
I'm driving my Sonus Faber Electa Amator II's with my SLI-80 with great results--I haven't heard the new SF Auditors, but the Cary was great with SF Concertinos as well. Unfortunately, going to have to sell the Cary because I can't do tubes anymor...
New amp for SF Electra Amator II
Chuck, I've had the EA II's for about a 1.5 years now and love them. I've used Jeff Rowland's Concentra II integrated and the Jeff Rowland Model 112 solid state amps and thought each was a great match. About 1.5 months ago, I switched to the Cary ...
Best SS integrated for Pro Ac Response 3.8
I sold Brian the Concentra II, and I have to chime in say that the Concentra II is one of the best amps (and preamps for that matter) I've ever heard!! It ran Sonus Faber Electa Amator II's in my system (maybe similar sound to the Proacs?) and it ...
SunfireTG3- Para HaloC2 or Krell Showcase ?
I've auditioned the Parasound C2 in my system for a good period and I'm really impressed with the sound; like you my emphasis is on music over HT. Haven't heard the Sunfire; listened to the Showcase at dealer and it was impressive, but not as warm...

Consider the Cary 308-T!
I need suggestions for a minisystem.
I second the vote for the Denon; IMO for the money, the combo. with the little Mission speakers is very hard to beat. I have purchased the DM-30's for kids and inlaws--gets them a taste of what "high-end" can mean, in contrast to the "boom box" so...
New Cary 308-T
I've just had my 308-T for about a week, with almost 24-7 use to help it settle in. I quickly replaced the stock tubes with Mullard long plate 12au7's (I was able to buy 3 pairs here some time ago), and I am very impressed so far. I previously own...
Sonus Faber EA II being replaced?
I just purchased a new/demo pair (and am pleased), and yes, I was told that the new Cremona Auditor is in essence a replacement for the EA II's. From what I was told, the auditor, at least from "looks" standpoint, doesn't have quite the fit and fi...
Is e-mail system working?
Thanks, guys, I now have a response from one seller, so sytem seems to be working.
Is e-mail system working?
Good, hopefully it's not something with my e-mail delivery. I'll be patient, its just that with one particular seller I e-mailed a couple of weeks ago (with no response) and have tried again regarding a new listing.
2 Channel pre-amp...where to start...
I'm in the same situation; other preamps with HT pass thru and remote include BAT VK-30, Sonic Frontiers and Audio Research. I also want my preamp to have a 12v trigger to pwr up my amp--the newer Audio Research pre's have this (BAT and Sonic Fron...
LLano Amps.
I have the Trinity 200, driving Wilson-Benesch Act Ones. I love the incredible tight control of the bottom end, black background and yet the "magic" of the tubes for the midrange. I highly recommend you give Llano a try.
JM Lab Mini Utopia with Utopia sub?
I've spent a great deal of time auditioning (and lusting over) the Mini Utopia's at a dealer/friends. Excellent speaker; maybe not completely neutral, but very musical and dynamic. I would not go with JM Lab sub--try a REL Storm II--unbelievably m...
24/96 Transports
The Theta DaViD and DaViD II output true 96/24 digital signals.
Sony 9000 ES SACD output stage cold
Well, I probably have only 175-200 hours on the SACD side of my 9000ES, but right out of the box it was warmer, smoother than redbook cd's thru my PT P1A/P3A (with Dan Wright mods). Have Llano Design Trinity 200 hybrid amp, and have used both my S...
