Good point. I usedthe SME supplied gauge on the naked platter without the mat I will try again with the mat in place to see if it makes a difference.

Why do some amplifiers throw a bigger soundstage than others?
I have very little experience of tube amps, but I do remember a wide soundstage. However, the review I watched compared two solid state amps, both class A. still don’t understand why one would would throw a wider soundstage than the other.

Upgrade my older Linn Sondek or move on?
I had a 1980s lp12/ittok. Nice sounding but a bit bloated. Replaced the valhalla with a mose/Hercules which tightened the bass. Well worth the upgrade. Then I found a michell gyrodec. So much better and cost less than the price I got for my linn...

Actually I was thinking of using the ultrasonic cycle with surfactant, and follow with a water rinse on my VPI; thus cutting out the white paste steps and manual drying. Do you think this would be effective?
