Aleph 3 - Its 2013, are they still awesome ? I did not like the Aleph 30 with a single driver + super tweeter design similar to the Zus. The Aleph overdamped the bass on these speakers. A problem that I did not have when using First Watt amps with these speakers.
Ultrasonic Record Cleaner +++ New Model V-8 Clean The diyaudio.com thread on ultrasonic machines suggests that these machines involve more than $500 in parts. And this "parts cost" calculation is always problematic since it fails to take into account so much, including rent, engineering, design, ...
The best of the ECM label My favorites have been Gateway s/t and Gateway 2
Rogue Cronus vs Rogue Cronus Magnum I think that most would consider the Magnum to be better, since it incorporates parts and design elements not possible at the lower price point of the non-Magnum. Now is it going to be very noticeably better or worth the cost of the upgrade in you...
Differences between cable sound. Many cable makers have excellent return policies or you can use the Cable Company's lending library. They also give excellent advice.

Separates w/internal phono vs Integrated + phono You also have the advantages of separate power supplies for separate components, generally thought to be a good thing. Though on the other hand, with an integrated you don't have to worry about component synergy to the same degree.
Separates w/internal phono vs Integrated + phono It will also depend on how much you are interested in tweaking your sound. Separates allow you to dial the sound in to get what works best for you. You have more control over each part of the system.
Change the cartridge or phono stage I am not sure why everyone on this thread is obsessed with your set-up. I will assume that you have a cart that is properly set up and that any new cart will be set up properly by you or a dealer. Yes, this is very important. Like many audio compo...
Change the cartridge or phono stage I think that you will get more warmth from a cart or phono stage, rather than from a cable swap. But do not assume that a TT is just like an amp or CD player. The signal level is much much lower. Which makes cables from your cart to phono stage th... |
