Caution Monster XP Spkr Wire
To be clear, I have only discovered this while hooking up the DT's to the B spkr system. I plan on re-checking my own connections to the amp & also Spkr A at the earliest poss opportunity. r
Caution Monster XP Spkr Wire
The secondary level of transparent insulation is VERY FINE and can easily be missed. I actually could not get it off w/o using my teeth. Missing this quirk does result in poor sound.
Caution Monster XP Spkr Wire
Are U sure that U removed the last layer of insulation described above?
Caution Monster XP Spkr Wire
I was afraid of a response like that but I must say that the Mons XP is notably better than the standard wire i had b4. Would U really describe it as 'one of the poorest'. What else would be recommended w/o shooting the moon? Thanks r
bi-wire vs jumpers
Forget the jumpers. If your spkr has 4 posts & U don't want to bi-wire, just strip another inch off of the spkr wire and run the whole thing through Both terminals.
Bi-Amping
This would probably be somewhat impractical as a separate component would be needed for L & R spkr.
Bi-Amping
Exactly-- the reason I came up with the idea is that I have a reverse box hooked up to my RCA outputs from my DAT that changes the L & R stereo channels. I was hoping to configure the same sort of thing so as to compare amps on the same spkrs ...
Bi-Amping
Apparently my prev conception of Biamping was incorrect. My hope was to hook up a Sansui 2000x & a Denon 395 to the same speakers at the same time for comparison. r
Balanced or Not
Thanks for the topic as I happen to be wondering if Bal or Unbal cables should be used for the female XLR to RCA outputs on my Fostex D5. The cable runs into my Denon DRA- 395. Any suggestions are appreciated. r
Channel Change
My fav thing is early Beatles. Until IWTHYH, the records were all in 2 track and I had alot of fun with the old Sansui because I prefer to hear the vocals out of the left side.
You know you're an audiophile if--
u can't listen to music in a car or if conversing w/ someone or in mono or in the daytime.
Personal speaker evolution
1971-- Pioneer CS-771990-- JBL L192012-- JBL G300The last are a somewhat rare 3- way which I stole for $240 delivered. I am new to the audiophile community but these sound great with my Denon DRA 395. I cannot say enough about Denon SLDC.
off axis or tilted speaker placement ?
I have my JBL G300's on 35" stands about 5' from each ear. They are in a configuration of about 155 degrees for headphone like stereo imaging. One of them is very slightly tilted. They are secured to the stands w/ bungee cords over the top. JBL li...
Denon DRA-685 & KEF Q9 - Very low volume and tinny
I have the Denon DRA 395 going with JBL G300's and I have no probs at all. Denon SLDC is great.
