SimAudio Moon W10 Monoblock Review Thanks for the comments. Peter, I'll check out the power conditioners that you mentioned. I use a PS 600 for the source components and need something for the amps that isn't current limiting. The comment you made about them sounding thin and conges...
Krell amps and Tube Preamps - enemies? Oldpet, send an email to Krell through their website at www.krellonline.com and include a fax number with the email. They'll fax you a sketch of the internal layout of the amp with arrows pointing to the two jumpers that need to be removed. It's v...
Krell amps and Tube Preamps - enemies? I used an ARC LS 15 with a Krell FPB200 for a few months. Initially I didn't remove the jumpers in the amp, and I couldn't leave the amp switched on for any length of time, it would get hotter and hotter (without signal) then eventually shut itsel...
Where are your maggies?? Hi...Thanks for the information and suggestions. It's been a while since I made the post above and things have moved on quite a lot since. Also, when I posted the thread we'd just moved into a new house and I used the room dimensions that were on ...
Review of Blue Circle BC 86 AC Line Conditioner Guy's...I agree it is strange, but it's true nevertheless. Also, it's not one of those "Ok, I spent $200 so this has to sound better" deals, it's a real night and day difference that you can hear well away from the sweet spot. Susan even commented...
Speaker Choice for a larger room Thanks Cytocycle, I took a peak at your system there....nice job! The Wilsons look really classy in the Yellow finish. How did you finish up with speaker placement, did that position with them well into the room work out?CheersRooze
Speaker Choice for a larger room Thanks all for your informed advice. I'm surprised to see the multiple recommendations for the Tyler Woodmeres? Maybe I'm out of touch, but I haven't seen much in the audio press about these speakers. I like the idea of an efficient speaker, since...
mono amp for sub The Carver zr1600 pro has a mono switch and would work well for a sub. It has a good deal of lower end control in stereo mode, so ought to work well. Rooze
Parasound - Pass Labs - VTL - Krell Amp Selection I guess all things come down to a dual between personal preference and system synergy. No one can really comment with any degree of authority on a component outside of their own system. How on earth do you know how it will sound with my Magnepan's,...
best Speakers Cables for Magnepan 3.6R ? Virtual Dynamics are worth checking out. I've had maybe 10 or 12 sets of wire in my system and the VD NiteII's leave everything else behind....it's just my opinion.
Parasound - Pass Labs - VTL - Krell Amp Selection Muralman, I know you have an allegiance to Henry, and you are passionate about the amps you own, there is nothing wrong with that. However, we all have very different systems and rooms, and equipment works quite differently from one setup to anoth...
Parasound - Pass Labs - VTL - Krell Amp Selection Loudandclear...thank you for being the voice of reason. There are too many people making wild and unsubstantiated claims about equipment performance....my Carvers are remarkable amps for the money. The dealer that I bought them from claimed that p...
Parasound - Pass Labs - VTL - Krell Amp Selection Thanks for the suggestions. Muralman, I think you and I have 'talked' about the H2O's in the past. You sent me a contact for Henry, and I spoke with him and recieved some info. About that time the price of his Mono's went up a $1000 and it put me ...
"The Law of Diminishing Returns"??? I think that the Law of Diminishing Returns really does exist, but the problem is perpetuated by the manufacturers themselves. I'm convinced that many manufacturers make a new component(as a prototype initially) then assign a value to it based on ...
Blown Tweeter & midrange fuses Magnepan 3.6r Something isn't right about this picture. I've had over a dozen amps with my 3.6's and never blew a midrange fuse, despite playing quite loud (85db with 95db peaks measured on a RS SPL meter)and despite having a room over twice the size as yours. ... |
