YouTube Indicates What the Future is For Audiophiles - Interesting Demographics.
I like what Devon Turnbull of OJAS is doing. He’s the guy making avantgarde horn systems and electronics and partnering with art galleries to produce functional art-audio installations. He’s successfully connecting with a younger crowd who appreci...
YouTube Indicates What the Future is For Audiophiles - Interesting Demographics.
@kennymacc  I wish that all the old mediums from the past: CD, reel to reel, cassette, turn tables, and even 8 track, would make a huge comeback, and would also somehow start to resonate with the young on a much higher level, just to see the hig...
YouTube Indicates What the Future is For Audiophiles - Interesting Demographics.
@tkrtrb125  This demographic probably has not changed in 75 years. Just a fact that all the old farts have the time and money for this pursuit. A young man ain’t got nothing in the world these days.  Amen to that..
YouTube Indicates What the Future is For Audiophiles - Interesting Demographics.
@onhwy61 - I have. Several. In fact, the second video for which I showed the stats in the OP was a trendier and more modern video, actually a song set to a soft rap beat. I was hoping to catch a younger more diverse audience with that, but I didn’...
YouTube Indicates What the Future is For Audiophiles - Interesting Demographics.
@stuartk Thanks, I wasn’t ’looking’ for anything, I was just sharing some specific data that’s a day old and hasn’t been shared before. My questions were whether or not manufacturers, dealers etc. could do more to try and address these issues, a...

Agree with both posters above. What’s depressing to me is the rate at which it’s going to happen, judging from those age stats. Does anyone think the industry at large could do more to appeal to younger generations and also to the multiple genders...
No More Fake Reviews - So Who’s Gonna Tell Us What To Buy?
@gs5556  You said: If a reviewer states that he was given or purchased the product at a discount then to me the manufacturer wrote the review. I think that's a safe default position. But consider this, which I think is a common scenario: I'm...
Recommend me a tube integrated amplifier
Heard Synthesis amps with Audio Note, Harbeth, and ProAc speakers up at Deja Vu audio near DC and fell in love with the sound. I can't recall the model amps I heard that day but I was fortunate enough to get a good deal on a Synthesis A100 Titan f...
Synthesis Amplifiers: One of High End's Best Kept Secrets?
I haven't use my A100 Titan in weeks since landing a Don Sachs Kootenay KT66. To be honest, the Titan is a better amp than the Kootenay but I just like switching things around. Has anyone stepped up from an A100 Titan to something they like better...
No More Fake Reviews - So Who’s Gonna Tell Us What To Buy?
@curiousjim  So in conclusion, I feel that if they tell you upfront that they bought the item at a greatly reduced price or that they were outright given the piece, there shouldn’t be a problem. ...and I think that's pretty much exactly what t...

I’ve been verklempt ever since hearing about this ruling but I do think the FTC has captured the gestalt of the issue and I support any drive for improved transparency for audiophiles.
No More Fake Reviews - So Who’s Gonna Tell Us What To Buy?
@cleeds I think 'consumer reviews' means reviews for the consumer not specifically 'reviews by a consumer', so professional reviewers generate consumer reviews and are affected by the ruling. You could also consider that many consumers who are unp...

Don't forget that the ruling also includes provisions that protect reviewers from retaliation by manufacturers, per Erin, Tekton, the Goldensound guy, and a couple others who escape mind. This has to be positive, right?
No More Fake Reviews - So Who’s Gonna Tell Us What To Buy?
@jayctoy I think the argument made is that being honest and truthful doesn't go hand-in-glove with being paid: "As long as the reviewer is honest and truthful. Perks benefits is ok with me."  I suspect nothing much will happen until someone we kn...
No More Fake Reviews - So Who’s Gonna Tell Us What To Buy?
It should change, based on the ruling. Assuming there are any teeth involved and resources to police/implement the ruling. It cuts pretty deep if you read the whole thing, beyond the basic sub-title: The rule will allow agency to strengthen enfo...
