whatsbestforum - what's going on
I see that my colleague Tom has already taken care of gano's registration issue. I was made aware of this thread only today, so I apologize that I did not see it earlier. But I am grateful to Tom for already taking care of gano. Carlos' posts and...
whatsbestforum - what's going on
Hello isellgoodgear, I am puzzled by your post. I actually am known for not being "touchy" at all about components. In fact far from it. I have nothing to do with moderation whatsoever. I also have nothing to do with the IT side of the website. ...

Hello gano, I am Ron Resnick, Co-Owner of WhatsBestForum.com. I'm sorry you had that experience! I'm not involved on the IT side of the website. But I do know that the system blocks VPN addresses. Please write to me at info@bhaudiocafe.com and ...
Do you listen to your music with your eyes open or closed or a combination of both?
For enjoyment I listen with both eyes open. If I am being analytical to compare two components, I might close my eyes to concentrate.
Help me spend $100,000 on a new system
Hi Mike, What an exciting project! Since you already have an elaborate system, I assume you have a good understanding of the kind of sound you like for the kind of music you listen to. Perhaps you could triangulate from the sound of your curren...
The MoFi Mess and TAS rolling over for them
I don’t understand why Jonathan attempts to create a balancing equation such that the apparently knowingly misleading statements by Mobile Fidelity (Jonathan: “Indeed, Mobile Fidelity‘s publicity has, I think, deliberately left the impression that...

In your stereo the signal comes from the amplifier?
Recommendations for speakers that sound great at lower volume levels.
Of the loudspeakers I have experimented with specifically listening to at low volume the loudspeaker I have found to be the most enjoyable at low volume is the Wilson Audio Chronosonic XVX (and I am a life-long planar speaker person).
Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo
If, on this thread, we deleted every post by someone who 1) has never actually heard the Wilson Audio XVX speakers, 2) has never been to Michael Fremer's listening room, or 3) has not applied a completely arbitrary calculation of "overpriced" base...
Best cost no object tube phono
Hello rauliruegas,You have a fair opinion that, for you personally, the noise level of an all-tube phono stage, like the Aesthetix Io, is too high to satisfy your preference versus a stone dead quiet solid-state phono stage. But this is a matter o...
In the middle of a pandemic, Stereophile reviews ~ $30K equipment
Except for some disapproving judgment implied by you I see no connection between the world’s economic events and Stereophile’s reviews of expensive audio equipment. Reviewing expensive audio equipment is Stereophile’s raison d’être in every econom...
How much do you need to spend to get digital to rival analog?
The second and third posts in this thread, and Mike Lavigne’s post, are correct. If you enjoy and seek the sound analog creates then no amount of money spent on digital will be able to replicate the analog experience.
Can we finally put Reel to Reel out of its misery? Put it to rest people.
I counted six (6) false statements in the opening post.
Rockport Avior 2 vs Wilson Sasha DAW
Hi Carey,I have had listening experiences with the Rockport Arrakis, Altair II and Lyra. I have had less experience with the smaller models.I, too, find that Rockport has a “house” sound similarity across the models. I happen to love this house so...
