| Anyone auditioned Pass Labs XP-30 preamp? I am looking at the XP-20...seems to me if you don't need all the inputs of the XP-30, the XP-20 should do the trick. The sound has to be very close when comparing the two or am I missing something ? | |
| What's more important: phono stage or amp agreed..no sense having a great phono stage with a mediocre amp...so both are important as is the table, cart, arm, pre-amp, interconnects, speakers cable, ect. As Al says "A chain is as strong as its weakest link" no truer words spoken. | |

| New 'Vinyl Flat' flattener? I know outer rings don't work well on some TT's, especially suspended designs. That said, if you do like the sound of an outer ring on your TT, there is no need to flatten records as the ring will do it in all but the very worst cases. YMMV. | |
| Leave the turntable running? I use an outer ring and center weight. No way am I removing the outer ring while the platter is spinning. I use the off option for flips and sleep very well at night...table: Clearaudio Innovation Compact. :-) |
