What was your most disappointing album purchase?
It was a John Coltrane album, cannot recall the title, but the album was blank. A smooth surface. Nothing recorded on it.
How do you share the sweet spot?
I have only two chairs in my room: one sweet spot and one directly behind the sweet spot chair. In the sweet spot you get enveloped by the music and are able to peer deep into it. In the secondary chair you get more of a wall-of-sound presentation...
Anyone used Mapletree Line 2CRM preamp with NAD power amp?
No experience pairing my Mapletree preamp (which is a wonderful piece) with a NAD integrated, but did try pairing it with a different integrated. The Mapletree did not improve the sound extensively until I paired it with a separate power amp. Info...

Why no interest in reel to reel if you're looking for the ultimate sound?
I have nearly 2,000 CDs and I need them all. Doubt most are available on R2R, and then there's the astronomical cost.

How to tell if some one legit
... email him for his phone number. When you get it, call him because a phone call will give you a better sense on what type of person you are dealing with. If he refuses then tell him you're done.+1
Another new DAC: Audio Mirror
Side note about Audio Mirror: I don't have the DAC, but do have the 45 Watt SET amps, and they are powerful, marvelous amps and Vlad B has provided me with top-notch service for years. He is a solid pro and gentleman.
Jazz for aficionados
@rok2id  We don't need no stinkin' Bass Clarinet. And that is why I never post here.

Bass Clarinet -->> Eric DolphyCheck him out with (Village Vanguard and Africa/Brass) and without Coltrane (Outward Bound, Out There, and Out to Lunch!). But be prepared ... as Miles said, whenever Eric plays it sounds like somebody is steppi...
Floor Stander or Monitor w/ 2 subs? What does the later give up in a large room?
IME she’ll hate whatever you get so you’re better off commandeering a different room just for yourself (and good luck with that unless it is in the attic, basement, or garage). She may not say anything at first as she tries to allow you your silly...
