Linn LP12 turntable Hello, I own and have owned many turntables. Despite having a recent model P3 with the outboard power supply, I am not a Rega fan. They are neither high mass, nor suspended. It was bought as an interim machine when the speed regulation went so...
Recommendations for a jazz record which demonstrates vinyl superiority over digital " @robob I can't let this stand- sorry. The RIAA curve is based on the 'constant velocity' characteristic of magnetic cartridges and also magnetic cutter heads. Magnetic cartridges are constant-velocity devices: the signal is proportional to the...
TechDAS Reliability vs SME Yes, Folks should do some research before posting. The AFIII Premium (S) is a wonderful table and I am not sure what is wrong with the looks. It is even a bit blingy for my test with the bright copper platter. However the copper contrasts nice...
Recommendations for a jazz record which demonstrates vinyl superiority over digital "Cartridges / phono-stages should honour the RIAA equalisation curve." The RIAA curve has nothing to do with cartridges, it is compensation for some of the shortcomings of the vinyl mastering/playback system. The mastering side of the curve is...
Recommendations for a jazz record which demonstrates vinyl superiority over digital "The Medium or the Source Method to hear produced sound, does not matter anymore" Maybe not to you, but to many it does. One should not state opinion as if it was fact. Sincerely, Robert
Recommendations for a jazz record which demonstrates vinyl superiority over digital "I have several audiophile copies of Kind of Blue. The streaming version sounds the same and only costs $14.99 a month and includes half a million other high resolution albums and ten million red book CD quality albums. Much more cost effective th...

TechDas Speed Issue OK, I thought maybe somebody had run into the issue. And no, nothing is dragging. It is an air bearing with a separate compressor for the bearing and vacuum hold down. The power supply and and speed controller are in a box with the compressor....
TechDas III Premium vs Premium S Got the Premium III S installed a few days ago. A very impressive machine. Hope you folks are well and good, Robert
Anybody Try A5s With Pass XA30.8? Thanks:-)
VTL TL7.5 series lll VS VAC Master Line Stage VS AR Ref 6 VS Nagra Classic Preamp I have the VTL 6.5 III for the tubes and the high number of inputs including two tape monitors. The stock tubes were SHOUTY. I have not tried the Amperex, but NOS or lightly used and matched Mullards are quite nice. Y'all be safe, Robert
Need advice In most experienced users minds there are many other tubes that sound better than Electro-Harmonix. For 6922s try the Phillips from Holland. Good listening, Robert
Is there a difference between Linn LP12 lingo 1 vs lingo 2 other than the case? How does one recognize Lingo 4? Thanks, Robert
Perfect Vinyl Forever As some have no doubt discovered, multiple cleanings can help. It was true with my VPI 16.5 and is still true with my Degritter. With some LPs the noise is baked in during pressing. I have an Anne Bisson that has been cleaned multiple times on...
Anybody Try A5s With Pass XA30.8? Altecs are not my cup of tea. Not interested in speakers as an investment, I want some that will sound good with the rest of my system. Yeah, the T-400 is good stuff, but I want them to check it at least. I listen about 12 feet from the speaker... |
