You didn't hear it here.
Don't think you refuted my statement if you intended to, "He does not prove conclusively that some people will not be able to detect a difference, at least if I am interpreting his study correctly. "   There are experiments that have shown abilit...
Why do most phono preamps lack XLR input even thought cartridges are naturally balanced?
@kijanki instrumentation amplifiers use laser trimmed resistors internally and/or external precision resistors as well as significant open loop bandwidth to achieve high CMRR and fixed gain levels. If you mean the differential pair / long tailed p...
A challenge to the "measurement" camp
You just inadvertently made djones51’s argument, and if you don't think you did, then you made the argument the video was trying to make. andy2 OP1,181 posts07-07-2020 5:25pm Just a 20hz to 20khz sweep from your speakers. Use two different speaker...
Too good a post to waste
Nope, I knew from reading exactly what you have said, and hence I knew, based on your ego, that if I posted the right thing, you would say exactly what I wanted you to say.geoffkait 23,324 posts07-07-2020 5:17pmI never said any such thing, this is...
Why do most phono preamps lack XLR input even thought cartridges are naturally balanced?
A cartridge has no ground reference so common mode noise will not induce a signal at the pre-amp except at frequencies well outside the audio band.Matching gains of gain elements is only critical if sufficient feedback at bandwidth is not used to ...
Who says cables don't make a difference?
Some low capacitance cables with some high bandwidth not fully stable amplifiers in the old days 80s'/90's, were not happy.
Who says cables don't make a difference?
Considering people use short cables, as short as 1ft to connect pre-amps and power amps which would have very low capacitance, no, oscillation would not be an issue, and would not be a factor of low capacitance, and the output of the preamp is low...
Who says cables don't make a difference?
Unfortunately, my point was proven too early Cleeds.
Why no interest in reel to reel if you're looking for the ultimate sound?
Since this topic was brought up in a thread that had nothing to do with CDs, perhaps the author of this post, @geoffkait  can tell us how a low cost CD player, in a car, travelling on the roads of Detroit (notorious for bad roads), can play, witho...
Who says cables don't make a difference?
Why would a low capacitance cable need a high impedance amplifier input?
Right channel bias in analog setup
Probably unrelated, but that cartridge, if I am not mistaken, is horribly mismatched to that tone-arm.Miller is probably on to something, but I would not be surprised given your azimuth experiment, that something is broken/faulty.  Is this the fir...
What do you sit on?
edcyn,Thank you for the head's up on that sofa. It comes in low back. Unfortunately not in fabric, but for where I am thinking, in low back, I am not as concerned and in comes in a love seat (2 seater) in 65 colors.
Who says cables don't make a difference?
Cleeds,Perhaps if some people, in the absence of being able to make and communicate a reasonable argument, just stepped back from their keyboard as opposed to resorting to insults that add nothing to the conversation, then yes. Till then ....   I ...
digital or analog volume control?
Buffered or unbuffered volume control, and if buffered, what circuitry is forming the buffer for the amplifier?
Is Classe SSP-800 Worth Repairing?
What do they charge for a quote? If it is say $100 for them to provide you a quote, that is probably a good investment, then decide from there. Since they shut down the Montreal facility, not sure what local service looks like any more.
