Are you in a MUSIC CLUB yet?
Having moved to the SF Bay area a couple of years ago, I also would like to meet with music lovers and check out other systems. I'm on the peninsula, anyone interested please email. Sounds like Albert has the right formula.
Recommendations for auto or semi auto turntable
T_boneAnd I've admired yours as well. Drop by for a listen;-)We have a Sony PX-X70 that, while decidedly mid fi, gets the job done. I'll look around for a PX also. I was hoping to discover something very good from the board although I'm not sure a...
Sony TTS 8000 w Sony PUA 1600L
I have my eye on two. One with the "sample" plinth with lifing arms and two armboards. The other on the T1000 plinth. Both have the 1600L installed. I don't know the torque spec but understand they will take a heavy clamp. I'll look around for tha...
Companies with good customer service?
Atma-sphere has the service you want without a doubt.

STEAM CLEANING LP's
Does anyone have a good method to protect the label from mist or splatter?
$2500 Tube Amp Recommendations
I've had an Art Audio Concerto that I would highly recommend for this money. I think there is one for sale here now.
Resurrecting Shure V15VxMR
Thanks for the posts. I have this Shure that's been sitting for 18mos. Now I know what I'm doing with it.

Best finds at garage sale or similar establishment
I bought a pr. of Quad 57 from a middle aged lawyer for 750. Then he ask if I'd want the Marantz Modle 8 tube amp and McIntosh 71 tuner for an additional 150 for the pair. The amp was gone though as well as the tuner for about 200 more. 1,100. for...
Best Martin Logans for under $2000 used?
I've remembered my old ML CLS IIz fondly. They are amazing in what they do right. Fast, transparent and great with Amta-sphere (and other) OTL's. These aren't for everyone, but I really liked them.Good luck.
Micro Seiki RX 5000
I concur with Elizabeth but If I were you, I'd take the whole thing to a high end turntable specialist to bring back to full glory. I've been looking for one of these for a while. Good luck.
Micro Seiki RX 5000
The spindle should unscrew by hand. It may be frozen from age. Take it off without burring or scratching by using a cloth and light plier work. Lube it when putting back on.
Micro Seiki RX 5000
Or maybe the pump is missing. If it will not turn or has a FV designation, don't force it!
Micro Seiki RX 5000
I believe this is a sealed oil bearing but I may be mistaken. Why do you think it needs service. If this has a pump and the platter wouldn't turn, it is probably a RX5000fv. If so do not try to turn the platter without the pump on and floating the...
