oh and thanks Guido for the input! I have to admit I have no idea what a PFC is or does.

Rowland Concerto integrated vs Rowland Capri & 102
Hi, not sure which question/comparison/model you're referring to...thanks.
Rowland Concerto integrated vs Rowland Capri & 102
Sorry, forgot to add that the other option I am considering is a Bel Canto S300iu. Any opinions of it vs the Concerto would be welcomed. And while I'm at it, has anyone successfully used an Apple TV's optical out with the S300iu's on board DAC? Doe...
OK, I'm dumb. Does it ever end?
Thanks. I was referring to the Arcam as the Mercedes' steering wheel. I figured Sony would be more akin to a Toyota. I guess car comparisons are subjective...All I really want is to have a simple cohesive system that sounds great...AND STOP. My gi...
Biggest Baddest Audio Cables
http://www.sterlingcable.co.uk/spk.htmlThese things are beasts. They're even called Mambas. Do they sound better than X Y or Z? No idea. They're my first and only cables. All I know is, they sound fine to me and they look extremely bad a**. They c...
Gallo Reference 3.1 questions...
Thanks guys. 1 last question...do you think 100W would be enough for the speaker?
NHT power 2 and power5
I'd love to read something, anything on the Power2. It's rated at 200W and uses the same B&O Ice stuff as all the big players, for less than half price. Hmm. That they're being discontinued and the lack of a single review causes concern.
Novice ears or unrealistic expectations?
Just an update...Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to respond. Some of you suggested new or different equipment was in order. My more financially responsible better half would absolutely have my head if I got new speakers or a tube amp....
Novice ears or unrealistic expectations?
G_georgi , awesome feedback. (and thanks to everyone else too) Your experience is almost identical to mine. I have tried the port plugs on my 683s. I think I have some sort of psychoacoustic block towards tweaking things like bass/treble response ...
Novice ears or unrealistic expectations?
Thanks for your input. Actually, I'd rather hear what you've said than something to the effect of "give it time" or "break it in", or the like. Funny though, how honest advice that involves NOT spending more money always seems to show it's face AF...
Any reason to spend $$ on hi-end ICs for an iPod?
I had order these for my TV. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310022922085I hooked them up to my Rdock for kicks. Don't really hear much difference, but they look cool.
Buy a sub or ditch my new speakers altogether?
Thanks everyone. I ended up selling the 602.5s and getting the 683s. Man what a difference. I have absolutely no desire for a sub anymore. If anything, the 683s offer a tad bit too much bass with some music. No complaints though.
Noob jumper questions...
Thanks folks. I wish I had room to move the speakers out...I'm in a tiny apt. I actually tried the bananas. Using the tip I read here of placing the positive on high and the neg on low makes them not stick out quite as far, and they seem pretty st...
Noob jumper questions...
The cables I bought http://www.sterlingcable.co.uk/spk.html Sterling Black Mambas, from the U.K., which look and sound awesome!) have the screws on the end, to attach a banana or spade. I'd have to destroy the ends to get bare wire.
