Ray Thomas has Passed
I agree with everyone about the extreme delay in the induction of the Moody Blues into the Hall of Fame. It’s an egregious over-site and long over due. The MB’s had countless hit songs on the radio for 20+ years straight. How they could be overloo...
Good Bass Recordings on CD for Subwoofer Testing
+1 on the Keb Mo Slow Down album.  It has exceptional separation of instruments and fantastic low-end bass lines.  This is absolutely one of the best recordings for bass I've ever heard.  Check out the cut "Soon as I get Paid".  This album is one ...
Sgt.Pepper special on PBS
Loved that special!  Definitely a cut above any other rock documentary I've ever seen.

Do you admit that you ever enjoyed listening to:
I agree with exactly what Vindanpar said about the Carpenter's.  Wouldn't give them the time of day, back in the day.  Now I listen to them and am bowled over by the quality of Karen's voice and the professional and artful production of the songs....

THE most sonically dissappointing (lp) you own of great music?
Ditto on Yes "Tales"!  What great music, what terrible remastering.  Most of the old Yes (prior) to the nineties is really poor now.  The original record albums were fantastic.
Tube advice
Upscale Audio has a very rigorous tube testing and matching process. Unless you have money to throw away, I’d definitely purchase tubes from Upscale Audio, or Jim McShane. I have more experience with Kevin at Upscale Audio, but Jim McShane also ha...
Obscure bands
Gonna have to give a +2 to Jade Warrior.  I'm impressed that someone brought that one up!  A fantastic band from the 70's in the prog rock arena out of Britain. Supremely creative.  Steve Winwood got involved with them trying to get them on the ma...
Best Pre-amp for $500??
In the theme of dinasty, the Parasound AVC-2500.  Does everything you're asking for.  Originally $3500.00, used $400ish, maybe even less.  You didn't specify what digital in's you needed.  The AVC-2500 does not have hdmi, but it does have optical,...
Hype, Hyperbole and high price!
Well, this was really fun!  What an entertaining thread.  I had to read the whole thing, I just couldn't help myself.  As well as LMAO, I did actually learn a thing or two, I think.I used to be in the motorcycle business--odd that motorcycles came...
