Wadia Durability Experience Questions
I've had the 27 ever since it came out. Had it upgraded to "i" version by Wadia. Purchased a 270 when they came out and upgraded to "se". One rectifier burned out in the 27i that's it. So I'd say this stuff is reliable. BTW: Both units now with GN...
Why Don't More People Love Audio?
Maybe they're watching "us" (audiophiles) and think "we're" crazy!
1/2 Meter Interconnect Good Idea?
I think this whole discussion started with digital interconnects 1.5m vs. 1m, with some claiming the 1.5m to be better. I don't know about the validity of the claim because I've never tested the theory. As far as I can tell this argument never app...
Pat Metheny Nonesuch Remasters
Just bought the 2006 reissues of "Still Life Talking" and "Letter From Home" on Ebay new/sealed for $7.50 each. First, I'm not sure I understand how they can sell these at that price. Second, the original issues were mastered by Bob Ludwig who usu...
DCCA power cords... your comments pls.
I purchsed a DCCA Musical Essence for my power amp that although stiff was more flexible than I anticipated. IMO: it's a very fine cable and I'm pleased with my purchase. I would recommend the DCCA PCs.
Audio Tweak gone bad...similar experiences?
I use the steel pennies from the 40s. They seem to work best but have to be alternated heads up and heads down. Also, a piece of eight can work very well but only if it has been under sea water for at least 200 years. But actually, a doubloon is b...
DCCA PC stiffness?
Well, I purchased a DCCA Musical Essence PC from Don. Although it is a bit on the stiff side it's a quite bit more flexible than I had anticipated. Sonically it's a superb cable and I'm happy with my purchase. Thanks Don!
Pat Metheny Nonesuch Remasters
Yes, I believe all the ECMs were available in this series. BTW: For Metheny fans, may I direct you to a mini-review I wrote on 2/21? Jason Vieaux plays a CD of all Metheny tunes on classical guitar. Really quite superb.Still waiting to hear whethe...
Pat Metheny Nonesuch Remasters
I bought most of the early stuff on limited edition gold ECMs from Japan. They sound very nice. Would also be interested in any sound quality improvement in the newer releases as well.
The Future: No More Shiny Discs. Who Benefits?
As with so many discussions of the future, the best we can do is speculate. And even the most informed speculation can be way off the mark. I admit it's fun thinking about it and discussing it but ultimately something we never anticipated could be...

Bridging a McCormack Micro Amp to Mono
Contact Steve McCormack for your answer.
NAD S200 vs. McCormack DNA125
Another thing about the McCormack, if you need more power in the future the amp can be converted to mono and you could buy another.
Which digital cable to use with a Benchmark DAC-1
In my experience there are significant differences in the sound quality of digital cables. They definitely do not sound the same. The transport to DAC connection is critical to the sound of your entire system. I would suggect that you narrow your ...
Gold CDs ...... too much?
I always thought the MFSL gold CDs were hit or miss, some sounded excellent while others so-so. I'm not exactly sure what they did (in terms of processing) other than transfer to gold CDs. In almost all cases the DCCs seemed to better their alumin...
