Acoustic Sound Treatment Amen--you are preaching to choir, but I am glad to hear it. Couldn't tell you about your last question without knowing a lot more about the room and speakers. However, in general some type of bass trapping in the corners is beneficial.
Audioengine speakers I have not heard it, but know quite a bit about it. You probably already know the bass is rather limited. It's a single speaker that throws off left and right channel signals--so it's kind of unusual in that sense. It would seem to me that set up ...
Is there such a thing as audiophile parametric eq? I believe analog is the way to go for a variety of reasons. One is that the phase shift in the analog eq is the oposite of the phase shift created by a room mode--thus you are automatically correcting amplitude and phase. It's also extremely trans...
Krell KMA 100 or other Krell power amp I agree with Peter and have owned a pair of KMA 100s and a pair of KMA 160s. Also the bass on the 160s is far better than the 100s. The 100s were a bit unstable below 30 Hz.
What's up with the 'Piano' gloss???? I'm using a lint free find cotton cloth. The Novus is designed for acrylic. It does a great job on my VPI, which is a high gloss.
is RMAF worth a trip I love the show. It's more relaxed than shows like CES. Modest in price from a manufacturers standpoint so you get a nice variety of equipment--some new stuff from new companies. Good people, not too expensive, probably the best end user show out ...
Jazz trombone anyone? If you can ever see Wycliff Gordon in concert--wow! Not only an incredible musician, what great stage presence.

What's up with the 'Piano' gloss???? I use the #1 on the speakers to keep them clean and pretty much dust free and have had no need to use #2 or 3. I have used #1,2, and 3 on my VPI turntable, and it took a mediocre looking acrylic base and made it really incredible. #2 would probabl...
What's up with the 'Piano' gloss???? Our reference standard finish (Talon Loudspeakers) is piano gloss black. It is beautiful in my opinion and it is what sells the most--that's why it's become the standard (we do offer other custom finishes). As to keeping it looking perfect, there'...
Amplifiers for Talon Hawk monitors Imaging and depth will improve with the VAC. It's just a really excellent combination. In many respects I almost feel like the speaker and amps were made for each other. I'm currently enjoying the Musicblocs on a pair of Firebirds. As to frequency...
solution for a very bright room? RW--No problem, we were based in Maryland several years ago. We manufactured the PARC there, but now we are based out of Iowa. It really doesn't matter very much where we are located because the majority of communication is by e-mail and phone. Th...
solution for a very bright room? RW--are you implying you need to be near Virginia for Rives services? We do work all of the world (mostly US, but oversears as well), predominantly through our dealer network. We are based in Iowa. Just didn't want anyone to think we were limited ... |
