Ever heard of, any opinions on, these speakers?
Hi, thanks for the responses. Pretty good research there. They are around $1500/pair. I'm told by the shop that two shops in Tucson have dropped Paradigm and replaced them with Sinclair. I did get to compare them to a Paradigm and a PSB but just o...
Mark Levinson ML-9 or McCormack DNA-1?
I have Snell E's (and Superzeros and Minimus 7s) but am about to buy some Sinclair Brighton 490Ts I think. These latter I've never heard of but they are at the local shop for a very great price and I've listened to them for hours and like them a l...
Could use your advice re: tube gear
Thank you all for your advice, esp. on the B&Ws. I'd seen one post to that effect but didn't know whether to believe it, I do now. This presents a delimma on the Mac and Marantz. I'd like to buy a nicer house. I've been counting on turning thos...
Mccormack DNA-1 deluxe vs PASS X150.5 amps??
Jim, this thread may be old, and you may have long passed this issue. But, I am a neuroscientist and a psychologist and long-time audiophile and musician. The likelihood that your system is changing its sound from time to time, unless there is some...
What is exact Snell E/II exact stock woofer?
Then the original E and E II must not use the same woofer. My Vifa from my original is m21wn-07 4 ohm 504. Can anybody verify the original and II use different woofers?

OK, so check out the Rogue for tight bass and tube mids.My current speakers are:Snell Original E -- currently waiting for new foam surrounds from Peter at Audio Note so these have been out of commission since bringing everything out of storageNHT ...
Could use your advice re: tube gear
Thanks very much guys. How does that work....say I have my MC240 driving the speakers. You can make everything below say 100hz go to the sub(s), so your main speakers are not trying to reproduce energy below 100? And the sub is working off of a di...

Wolf, thanks very much. What a nice amp. I didn't know one could get so much new for that kind of money. Thank you.Jim
Could use your advice re: tube gear
Hm...maybe I asked a dumb question? or too many? Or probably folks figure the answer is already out there, understandably. Must be one of the most asked questions.I've been reading threads for a couple days, but it's not clear to me if I can get b...
Oh, to be a high end dealer for a year.

Does biamping w/ SS + tubes work?
Thanks guys. Both reasons why I decided against it.
Dunlavy SC-IV minus SC-I = a good sub?
Thanks much. I'll not get the Is I have been eyeing. Thank you for helping me make that decision.Mofimadness, why is the II (not the IIIa?) your favorite? I'd think the IV would be better?Thanks...
Dunlavy SC-IV minus SC-I = a good sub?
I think I did not do a good job of asking this question. If I add a sub to an SC-1, which used lets one try the Dunlavy sound for a few hundred bucks (and less than a hundred shipping), I am afraid that the area between 100 Hz and 300 Hz will stil...
Oh, to be a high end dealer for a year.
Thank you all for the very enlightening discussion.David12, as to this super rich always being with us, I wonder if startups thinking of taking the risky plunge go for the very high end, thinking it less risky than swimming with the masses, for th...
Does biamping w/ SS + tubes work?
Thank you all very much. My delimma is over. Rather than post further here, I'm going to start a new thread becaues it might be useful to others not interested in this thread. Thanks, and thanks again, this is a great place and you are nice folks....
