Recomendation for speakers BEST for Piano?
Actually frogman: There are sounds that are easy to reproduce and ones that arent. Complex full spectral sounds are more difficult to reproduce than sounds with a narrow bandwidth any sound engineer will tell you that. Here is a good starting link:...
SACD 2 channel vs Redbook 2 Channel
Wow, "Industry reports" from a "Sony webiste". Getting news from a Sony website is like reading the National Enquirer. Sony has never grossly inflated numbers before right people?........... As for those Sales numbers again very misleading....
Revel vs. Aerial vs. B&W
J: Markup on Revel's were 50 points. B&W's were also 50 points(but I know they have some independant deals where a retailer is moving ALOT of their product, they will get an even better deal or incentives of some kind) as is most companies. Bu...

Tubegroover: You need to take a magical walk into a controlled studio environment in Norfolk Ct. for some comparisons that may startle you(as they did me 8 years ago). That week I learned more about what the human ear/brain can and cannot detect i...
Snell type B:any upgrades?
Snell Type A reference would be a logical choice. Or you could go one step farther and go with a Revel Studio or Salon, both of which are also design's of Kevin Voecks and only improve on his older Type A design.
Revel vs. Aerial vs. B&W
A flat speaker would be "boring" Cdc, but having a flat midrange is pretty crucial to picking up alot of musical nuances. Highs should be rolled off and the bass should be boosted a bit for our ears to percieve a natural response curve. But dips o...
Revel vs. Aerial vs. B&W
Worldcat: You heard Studio's on Classe amplification, yet you own Theta equipment. Whats the point of the audition if your not doing direct AB comparisons with your OWN equipment? Kind of useless if you ask me. Most quality retailers will let you ...

Yes I am a "cones in box" guy, but I also own a pair of ML Prodigy speakers too. Maybe you need to read my comments again? Ill repeat what I stated up top again:Pretty much any speaker can sound good reproducing a solo Violin since its not a diff...
Revel Studios for half price?
Worldcat: The guy is looking for sonic characteristics of the full range Studio, not the sucked out midrange that all Aerial's(AKA generic Wilson Audio clones except for the 5B's which are excellent monitors but not full range) are known for.
Next Step Up from Adcom GFP-750 Preamp?
ANything by Pass labs gets a thumbs up in the active stage dept.

Mixing driver materials doesnt mean that they cant convey an excellent near perfect sonic reproduction. Knowing material resonations and resonation points along with crossover designs help to isolate anomalies. Again part of a competent speaker de...

Another theory of why your speakers reproduce "solo violin" better than most megabuck systems? MG 1.6's arent world beater speakers(or considered "megabuck speakers") to begin with so thats kind of a poor comparison. And a different kind of speake...

Muralman: Dipoles dont "color" the sound as much? You got some scientific evidence to back this up? Ive never heard this claim before. Dipoles have alot of drawbacks that easyily "color" the sound in their own way. Absolutely rediculous this claim...

The logic is that you state the strings make the sound for a Violin and state that a metal dome tweeter most resembles a "string". But the strings dont make the sound on a Violin, the wooden body does.
