Can flexible power cables sound good?
Morrow power cords...very good and very flexible. Affordable too.

My 4 ohm Apogee Duettas were driven very nicely by a pair of Bel Canto Ref 1000 monoblocks. I'm sure they would work fot you Zappas.

Why do some think "music" (not gear, trading, etc.) is the ultimate end?
My humble observation and opinion is that it all starts with the music we have acquired. Then we spend time and money acquiring gear to reproduce that music as faithfully as possible. At least that has been my 50 year quest. 
Preamp SS to match class D amp
I have a BAT vk42 preamp. For about 2 years I had it running my Bel Canto ref 1000 monoblocks.  Great combination. You might look into a BAT preamp...also plenty of xlr connectivity.

Experiences Selling Stuff On Audiogon?
I bought and sold several pieces on Audiogon over the years. Always a good experience. Lately I like The Music Room. You can get a price from them quickly for outright dale or trade.
