| Using my Power Amp + my receiver Slappy is correct. If your receiver has pre-outs, go ahead and connect your Carver to the pre-outs and your speakers to the Carver. The sound is bound to be better than coming from your receiver. | |

| Receiver going in protect mode I bet it is your speaker. I would use another pair of speakers and see what happens. There may be a short inside the speaker that you are not aware of. |
