Problems with my Tri-Vista 300--Need some help
Dear Wasline, It is called 5703 tube. Tube world sells them for 9.99. They are still used in microphones. Frankly I would be suspicious of the tech who told you they went bad. If they did there is probably something very wrong with the amp.

Amplifier design / Bob Carver's thoughts
Sean, I have always wanted a lightstar amp; I heard one years ago and never forgot it. I ended up buying an a760x which is a poor man's version of the lightstar, but reduced in its power and control. I never seem to have the money or I am always a...

Do a search an Audio asylum. There was some talk there a couple of years ago about problems of thermal runaway, but I don't know the models. I wouldn't spend a lot on them, but they might be fun if you are willing to take the risk that could "flam...

Is solid state on the brink of extinction?
Khrys, Muralman has been posting on these boards for quite a long time, and his posts usually revolve around the Apogee speakers. There is really nothing to suggest that Muralman is as shill; if he were one it would be for the defunct Apogee corpo...
