Electrocompaniet , Resolution Audio & Wadia
I finally sold my awesome Emc-1 last year after purchasing the Opus 21. I played them side by side for a while. I was reluctant to sell the Electrocomp because it is great(and I would agree w/ Teajay regarding the sonic). But to me, the Resolution...
Power Cord for Electrocompaniet ECD 1
Im using a Shunyata Mamba on mine as well...Oh my, this is one great DAC. Considering what people are now starting to sell these things used for, there is absolutely no reason to fool with any of those little DAC toys (not mentioning any names) yo...
Best interconnects for audio research
Something was never quite right w/ my ARC ProAc rig until I tried some Synergistic Res. Ref. I use the same on the speakers (biwire). It is definitely worth trying, and will go away easily on Agon if you dont like it. I paid dealer retail for some...
Suggestions for a monitor speaker
im with garfish on this...ive got a pair of proac 1sc's on my MD-208 (im using synergistic sig 2 for wire), and it sounds very nice. I have debated going full tube integrated, but I love the convenience of the 208, and think it is reasonably lush ...
power cords for Audio Research gears
i wasn't overwhelmed when I put different cords on my AR rig (mastercouplers, mambas, JPS Power AC), but you put a pair of ProAc 3.8's or fours on that rig you've got and I guarantee it'll take you away to audio never never land...
proac 2.5 vs 1sc/sub
This thread has pretty much played itself out, but I’ll add my .02 just because after an awful lot of speaker purchases, I finally settled on the 2.5’s for a main system, and 1SC’s /w sub for a second system. I’ve had both of these rigs going for ...
Proac vs. Meadowlark
yes Cellorover, the controversy begins…actually, no, we’re kinda from the same camp :) As good at the 1SC is, I could understand falling out of love with this speaker without a sub. And I have heard comments that the 1SC is better than other speak...
Proac vs. Meadowlark
I’ve owned Meadowlarks (Kestrel HR), and upgraded to ProAc (1.5, then 2.5), for what that’s worth. I believe Meadowlark to be one of the best choices out there all things considered, however, to my ears mid range clarity and detail is significantl...
Proac owners......advice please
interesting thread, I have the exact same issue with my 2.5's. I found that placement made a difference, but ultimately I think I'll eventually break down and get a couple of good traps to solve this. I am surprised you didnt like the ls-16. I use...
Minimonitor Choice: Proac 1sc vs. Totem Model 1s
I am reluctant to offer another opinion because the choice between these two speakers just boils down to a simple matter of personal taste. But being a minimonitor freak, and having owned both pairs of these at the same time, I’ll put in my $.02 F...
Non fatigueing speaker under 1500
I was gonna suggest the 1.5, but I didnt want to get too yappity about all this. But now that you've brought it up, they are one of the nicest speakers you could buy. They are not as good as the 2.5, but may actually do better in a smaller room. V...
Non fatigueing speaker under 1500
Asa, looks like they're still talkin 'bout Meadowlarks....which is OK. If he never hears the 2.5's, no harm done. But if he ever does (after already buying something else), he'll surely be grateful for the secondary market here on Agon! 2.5's on t...
Non fatigueing speaker under 1500
Gooddomino, FWIW I've had some nice variable analog out players, but never really had great luck going CD direct - harshness was always an issue until i solved it with a tube pre
Non fatigueing speaker under 1500
OK Figuy, first things first, Meadowlark makes a real nice speaker. Bang for the buck wise, some of their stuff is a no brainier choice. But the ProAcs have tonal quality, and a certain delicacy and finesse that is just very special. An uncompromi...
Non fatigueing speaker under 1500
go buy yerself a used pair of ProAc 1SC's for around 1200. At the bottom of every page in the ProAc owner's manual are the words "perfectly natural". And on this, I would definitely agree. I do appreciate the comments regarding Meadowlarks - I hav...
