best vocal harmonies in rock
Dixie Chicks (suggested by my wife). Are any of you familiar with the accapella group "The Bobs" (of which no member is really named Bob)? They are very funny at times, quite amazing and will drive you nuts after too many plays in a row.

Thank you Danlib1 for the suggestion. I should have thought to do it myself before posting this question in open forum. I know Mike Creek to address this type thing on his own without using a forum like this. There's no question that Mike knows hi...

Please don't forget about Jeff Lynne from ELO. What a sweet voice. I was really blown away by his vocals on the DVD Concert for George (Harrison).
Any vets among the Audiophiles here?

Modern day female jazz recommendations
Don't forget k.d. lang, granted she's not a dedicated Jazz singer but she can sing in almost any genre with a depth, passion and beauty that's truly over the top. Her Jazz tunes and collaboration with Tony Bennet were just superb.REL2

I've long enjoyed most of the releases from Reference Recordings, both on Vinyl and on CD. My favorites have been everything conducted by Eiji Oue. A real standout for me has been Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances on HDCD.I also agree with those who...
Wagner: The Ring Cycle. Diffinitive Lp Pressing?
Rushton nailed it perfectly. I had the cycle in both Decca and London sound in my "vinyl" days. I can only reinforce what he said as being absolutely correct.I currently have the Decca Box set complete and cherish being able to sit through entire ...
