Nobsound springs - load range waste of time without giving so much as a single reason why such calculations are useful. No one is arguing and qualified it with Of course this gets one in the ballpark and will require experimenting No one is claiming a calculation is the...
Nobsound springs - load range I always get cautious when hearing such dogmatic statements. I would rather consider starting in the dark and doing erratic trial and error on all possible permutations of changes to different variables of a system a waste of time. I prefer to h...
Holo Audio May DAC OK, I don't know enough about mac settings, hopefully someone will be able to chime in. What software/audio program are you using to play files?
Holo Audio May DAC @yakbob I'm not sure what you mean by "however is forced by the May at 32-bit" If you are using the upsampling in the May (that could be forcing it) otherwise nothing in the May is forcing the bit rate (to my knowledge), definitely turn that of...
Holo Audio May DAC @yakbob There are some having this issue using JCAT usb boards at high sampling rates, looks to be something with the chip used on those JACT boards. Appears to have been addressed via firmware from holo. Also I "think" there was mention about t...
Two surprising things I found that improved my imaging and staging... One of the biggest mistakes, IMHO, made with spkr placement is many people instinctually place them way too far apart. Thinking it will present a large stage, image etc.. This will usually have the opposite effect and will damage the overall SQ....
Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired Thanks for the clarification, sorry if I misunderstood the connection setups. Awesome you were able to compare side by side - that's usually difficult to do. Enjoy in good health!
Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired @melm I haven't (intentionally) applied negatives to anything, not in the least. I think we're talking a bit past each other. It's all good. Analytic, warm, clean, neutral, vivid etc.. are all traits, non of which are negative. They all have ...
Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired @melm Yeah it is a challenge to articulate all of the audio terms and as you pointed out everyone sort has there take. Clear/edginess > analytical side, warm/sweet = analogue'ish, but point taken and I get what you are saying :) The OP did a ...
Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired Looking at the internals of the 005, is it just me or do the builds between holo and 005 look similar? Either way, both have ridiculously good build quality
Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired @sns I understand and well aware - I stated that the new Spring3 would be more apples to apples (similar price, single chassis etc.). I'm also aware may level 2 has the custom (Titanis) USB
Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired Nice write up, thanks for taking the time to share. Seems like the Spring3 at ~ $3300 is more of an apples to apples comparo though. The custom USB on KTE lines by all accounts appear to be superior than other inputs (in the HOLO products). The US...
Holo Audio May DAC A couple things- if it’s being shipped to you in a matter of days then it’s already built (obviously) and with a lead time of 6 week build time to ship, your cancellation is very late in the process. They would lose a lot of money on a unit just ...
How long does Class A have? I'm thinking I may have to add two more pass XA's to my rig, ya know just for the tweeters :) Long live class A. Nothing like 'em.
Server/Source Recommendation For Denafrips Terminator @rooze good to know. I’ve been using an OpticalRendu as an naa for HQP and SQ is pretty damn good. I’m just curious about the Aurender architecture |
