parasound 3500 verses parasond jc1 Talked it over with Curl and might as well give the information to make the 3500 a better amp for those still using the old war horse....Replace Q-5 which is an IR part with Harris IRF9610. This along with the AC polarity and feedback resistor we ...
parasound 3500 verses parasond jc1 I'll get with John later in the day and post the number as easier than tearing the top off my 3500 :-) Funny thing is the Harris is the second source for the Mosfets as they are IR/Fairchild parts, but they don't exhibit the weird behavior and bri...
Best Tube Preamp for JC-1 Monoblocks? Rost, we have not been asked for a phono stage for the JC-2, but will have two CTC Gen II Vendetta phono stages available in early '06, to coincide with the introduction of the JC-2.......Both will be expensive with one being expensive and the oth...
parasound 3500 verses parasond jc1 Steve, we are talking about different things.......The IR devices that need to be repaced with Harris are not rectifiers, they are Mosfets used in the input section and this is the cause of the huge amount of 2nd harmonic distortion in the 3500 ov...
parasound 3500 verses parasond jc1 The 3500 is a stereo JC-1 is about the only difference worth noting in the electronic design. The 3500 has a ton more 2nd harmonic due to the International Rectifier devices in the driver circuit in lieu of the better mannered Harris devices in th...
Best Tube Preamp for JC-1 Monoblocks? Hey Audio Girl, no delays on the JC-2 at all, but things do not happen overnight and think we will be lucky to have the unit sorted out by and in production by the end of the year.......
Best Tube Preamp for JC-1 Monoblocks? Perfectionist, you pretty much nailed it as I voiced the JC-1 driving it with a balanced preamp. Lanny, you might want to wait until early '06 as the JC-2 preamp should be ready by then and it is fully balanced. While it uses no tubes it is all FE...
Best Tube Preamp for JC-1 Monoblocks? The JC-1 will sound better driven in balanced configuration so look for a balanced preamp.
VTL 450 or Parasound JC-1 Wayne Donnelly compared his VTLs with the JC-1s in review someplace a year or so ago. He was surprised as we were that the JC-1s did fine next to the 450s. The JC-1 is what it is, a very powerful machine made amplifier that happens to sound pretty...
Power cord for Accuphase DP-75v Rgs92, you fiddle with anything for over twenty years and you'll eventually get it to work pretty well! Thanks!
Power cord for Accuphase DP-75v Glad to hear the SLVR does well on the Accuphase DP75. I knew it worked well on their crossover and DAC, but wasn't sure on the DP75 model. The SLVR is the closest thing I have ever made to a universal cord that will work well on just about everyt...
A question for JC-1 owners... Warnerwh, yep I gave the DIY recipe cord to AA based upon a twenty-two year old design and think it is still better than 90% of the aftermarket cords out there.............
A question for JC-1 owners... Cytocycle, only thing in the SLVR cords is the silver in the connectors which are silver plated 688 brass. The cord does well on virtually anything allowing a quieter and more focussed presentation. The wire is tin plated OFC, not silver.........
A question for JC-1 owners... Might as well add my 2 cents to this as you guys are talking about me......I voiced the JC-1 with the stock cords and then moved onward to the SLVR which was a better match for the amp than the stock cord. The stock cord was the best sounding of t...
Parasound JC-1 Questions It is amazing that the world supply of Aceite de Culebra hasn't been depleted by the cognosenti as it is mined very close to the vacuum mines that used to provide six nines oxygen free vacuum before the collapse. I have often wondered what tube ma... |
