Tekton Design Lore
Paul,Thanks for the comparison of the Lore and the TL-D1.Sounds like the Tekton Lore is a well designed and versatile speaker with few compromises offering incredible value. If I didn't have my TL-D1's I'd seriously consider giving them a try.
Tekton Design Lore
Nice review Paul. How to the Lore's compare with the Tonian Labs TL-D1 that you once had, if you can recollect?
Silver plated female RCA jacks on amp/preamp?
My Audio Note L3 kit pre-amp came with silver plated RCA connectors as standard parts. I've been meaning to change the input RCA connectors on my amp to silver plated ones but haven't got around to it. My interconnects are all silver wire. If you ...
Marcin Wasilewski Trio
Thanks for the heads up. A jazz piano trio recording I've listened to a lot lately is "Achirana." An ECM recording from 2000 by pianist Vassilis Tsabropoulos along with bassist Arild Andersen and drummer John Marshall. Recommended.

Speakers that image best from corners 12' apart
As mentioned, Audio Note speakers will work well in this application with regard to corner position but your wall unit is probably the imaging killer. Many years ago I had an open frame wall unit between speakers and when it was removed the imagin...
Review: Tonian TL-D1 MK II Speaker
Luv my TL-D1's. Had them for the past two and a half years and have used them with Audio Note, 47 Labs and Red Wine Audio amplification. Very musical and revealing of the differences in the upstream gear. They are keepers for sure.
Favourite ECM Titles
"The Astounding Eyes of Rita" is excellent and highly recommended. One of my current favorites. If you don't mind compilations, "Vague" an ECM import of Brahem's music is a good choice. I just ordered a copy.
stepped attenuators
I switched out a defective potentiometer in my Audio Note L3 pre-amp for a Goldpoint Stepped Attenuator and am happy with the results. More open and transparent sounding. Stepped attenuators usually eliminate L and R level mismatching often found ...
Best recording audiophile level albums of 2010
Speaking of Western Vinyl I like "Constellations" by Balmorhea.
tube rolling of Lector t CDP
Back when I had a Lector 0.6T CDP I found that the Telefunken ECC801S offered the best tonal balance and most coherent presentation. The other 12AT7 type I tried was a 6201 Sylvania Gold Brand which is nice for that application but I found the Tel...

Sound Anchor Blue Dots or BluTack??
Bokfudo: My personal experience (from memory);Blue Dots: Distortion in the upper mid-range and lower treble.Blu-Tak: Better than the Blue Dots but made the mid-range leaner and seemed to roll off the high end.Herbies Big Fat Dots: The most balance...
Sound Anchor Blue Dots or BluTack??
I've used Blue Dots, Blu Tak, and Herbies Big Fat Dots between speakers and Sound Anchors stands and my preference was for the Herbies Big Fat Dots. The Blue Dots come with the stands, Blu Tak can be found as Dap Blue Stik at most hardware or stat...
"Dead Can Dance", what is your impression?
Check out "Toward The Within, a live concert recording which is available as both an audio only CD/SACD and as a DVD video.
