Replacing Vandy 2CEs w/ Monitors--Can It Be Done? You should definitely consider keeping the 2CEs. You could use an external crossover that would allow for fine-tuning the speaker to your room. Richard Vandersteen could help you do this, but you might want to contact a dealer for detailed assista...
What was your first music that you paid for? First album I owned was the first KISS album, which I received for my 7th or 8th birthday I think. I don't remember the first album I paid for, but it was probably either Queen's News of the World or Styx's Grand Illusion. I also really loved Ted ...
Best overall Speakers for $2,500.00 or less, New? Vandersteen 2CE Sigs are definitely worth an audition. Good luck! Robert
Best CD: Cary 308, Musical Fidelity A3, Arcam CD92 In my experience, the Cary 308 was the better player. It just created a much bigger sound (wide open soundstage?)than either of the other players. It definitely had better bass. The MF sounded great too and seemed to offer more detail or at least ...
CD Players $1,000 - $1,500 US - any info on Talk? The Cary 308 retails for $1,500. If you have a dealer that you regularly work with then you should be able to get it for less than that, probably around $1,250. You can get one used for between $750-$1,000. Good luck! Robert.
CD Players $1,000 - $1,500 US - any info on Talk? I think the Cary 308 is a pretty sweet player. It definitely deserves an audition. So far, it's the one that's done it for me. In that price range, I've heard the Arcam, Rega, and Musical Fidelity. Good luck! Robert
VAC - any comments? Good or bad. VAC is a great company. I own a discontinued linestage preamp and Kevin has been very helpful with suggestions. He even helped me figure out a problem that ultimately stemmed from another non-VAC component! I don't think you can go wrong with used...
I just sold my cd player what should i get? Just another player to add to the list.
I would like advice for a beginner. It's great that you're checking out lots of speakers. I owned a pair of B&W 602's and was impressed when I first bought them, but after a while I was really irritated by the high-end. You should also check out Linn Kans or Tukans. There are a ...
Spica TC-50 or Vandersteen 1b/1c or ? Vandersteens are a great speaker. I've got the 2CE Sigs in a medium size room (13x15). I was worried about their size, but it's proved not to be a problem. What dimensions are you working with? If you're looking for a great sounding full range spe...
Thinking Jupiter The Cary 308 is at the top of my list. Rega's just not as exciting to me, nor is the Musical Fidelity A3.2 or Arcam. I'd like to hear the new Quad 99CDP and I'm sure there's others out there to consider. Happy listening!
To improve bass, MF A3.24 to which? I just compared the Cary 308, the Musical Fidelity and the Arcam 92 this weekend. The Musicial Fidelity was definitely a clean and detailed sound, but the Cary blew it away when it came to bass, depth, and soundstage. It might not be your cup of t... |
