Tonearm Noise
Lewm, it is a mechanical scraping sound that becomes audible as I lower and lift the arm to play music. It didn't used to make this sound before I packed it when I moved and it sat inside the box in the living room for a couple of months. Also, I ...
Tonearm Noise

Tonearm Noise
Thanks Dougdeacon, I will try that, although it makes a sound even when the arm is being lowered. I did forget to mention that I changed the cartridge clips to JA Michell Premium clips so may be causing the noise.
Tonearm Noise
Mofi, it happens at both inner and outer groove. I've tried moving the interconnects. I have a Pioneer Pl-A45D and I don't experience the same thing. I did change the cartridge clips to JA Michell premiums before I packed the Nott when I moved to ...

Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi to everyone, this is off topic but very interseting. I found this video on youtube, the title is Koetsu Black on cocbolo arm. On the video the koetsu is mounted on a wooden arm, playing a severely warped record. The question is, what affect if a...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Timeltel, No, I'm not a golfer or artillerist, just a wannabe photojournalist. I ordered the 312 on ebay this morning, will also look into the AT95 for future reference. The thing is, the more I read about this hobby the more confused I get with a...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Timeltel, thanks for your response. I forgot to add the 415 STR to the equation. Will it perform just as well or even better than the 312 and 412? I am leaning towards the 312 simply because it costs less.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi Timeltel, I've been reading this thread for a while and you seem to be knowledgable with Acutex cartridges. I was just curious if you would recommend the Acutex 412STR over 312STR. I have a Nottingham Interspace Jr. with an Ace Interspace arm. ...

Thanks for all the responses. The lead wires for Nottingham are really thin, so I may just send it out for repair.
