I should also add if emi was a problem with this tt, it would be consistently present on albums and not varying from record to record.....I like the technics so dont want to get on the upgrade treadmill unless the difference is big!

tt surface noise reduce or tolerate?
noise floor has dropped a lot since got the heavy mat from kabusa, the tonearm dampen kit from kabusa, and had the cartridge professionally aligned including tonearm height set by eliot midwood from acoustic image in los angeles.michael

if you think for example the beatles sound bad on vinyl than maybe the problem is your phonostage, amp, speakers, and/or listening room setup.

whether you like a particular album on cd or vinyl better is very subjective!Generally, the cds that I have never particularly enjoyed listening to before I got a tt are the albums that tend to really benefit in analog. Other times, there are cds ...

try the lamm 2.2 which is a hybrid amplifer with plenty of power....I used to own it and love it......mine had some quality control issue but the sound is yummy....I know have the dartzeel amplifier with the mm2 speakers and am suprised to hear yo...

my concern about the heavyfeet is that it looks rather fragile to rest a tt player upon.....certainly intriguing for something mechanical but less so like a cd player. the heavyfeet over some sort of wooden board resting on its own feet would seem...

johnny not sure how "less wobbly" isolation cones is better than the technics tt feet alone resting on vibrapods which in turn rest on a butcher block with again the vibrapod also resting underneath the butcher block.If the cones are not perfectly...
