Please give me some suggestion on tube amp Wow! Killer listening room and set up... Youre in deep and it looks all good. Linkoping, you have excellent taste. As for your amp question, have you listened to OTL's mono blocks like Atma-Sphere? They really bring out the textural detail and ha...
Absorption or diffusion???? I'm with Rd, "I've always heard absorb in front of you, diffuse behind you." Anything coming off the TV would probably be a bad sound, distortion. Best of luck Gsselling, acoustic treatment is always so site specific. Cheers!
What is Audio Researches best preamp period I agree with Narrod from what I have been exposed to but, I still wouldn't think of trading my Aesthetix Calypso or Rhea in for a single piece of ARC ever made. No way, no how. Cheers!
What's your dirty little secret? Hey wait a minute Jndean, I still like The Monkey's "I'm A Believer", and the Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City". I must be a nerd but, that kind of stuff leaves great memories. Maybe it's cause we grew up with tons of vinyl records in the hou...
NPR, Wine Tasteing, & Audiophiles (ROFL R_f_sayles!!!)??? Ok Robm321 I give, what's the acronym? Is that in or out of agreement with my tongue in cheek remark? Cheers!
What's your dirty little secret? Well, I don't know if I can top "Windy" but here goes... I kinda liked Sophie B. Hawkins- "Damn I wish I was your Lover" from Tongues and Tails and when I found out that she was also into the girl thing, I liked her even better! Don't tell anybody...
NPR, Wine Tasteing, & Audiophiles Hmmmmm! There you go taking in that wild liberal mindset from NPR... Think I'll have a glass or three of semi-cheap wine and tune in to Car Talk or A Prairie Home Companion myself! Thanks. Cheers!

Just got my Nak Dragon - Wow With manual azimuth alignment on the recording head it gets even better when you play back a cassette that you recorded say, off an Lp on this deck as with my ZX-7, pretty impressive. The dragon as I recall may have auto azimuth on the play head. ...
Biamping question Opps! Hey Grisslehamn, Let me warn you that if you do not find these cables used there is a recommended 200 hour break in! (no kidding) and mine sucked up every bit of it before sounding really good. Much equipment has a break in period but... So,...
Spend my $8,000 pt. 2 To answer your query, my friends us Atma-Sphere or other tube gear with their Aesthetix. It's not a requirement but rather a choice. I understand your like of SS to do the power end of the scenario and see nothing wrong with that. There are a lot ...
Subtlety ? do any American amps do it? Lush, Just a little off subject but, Canada has a wealth of good speaker makers at an excellent value which would compare nicely with all the UK lot. Guess it sucks to be us huh. Not to mention all our TT's?!
Subtlety ? do any American amps do it? I know I'm late to this thread... but Yes, to answer your Question Ralph, it must be a trick question. I love my Atma-Sphere OTL's. Simon74 guess the colonies have got something (musically) right. Cheers!
Can HI FI components really make music? If a speaker tower falls in your living room and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?!
Spend my $8,000 pt. 2 I agree that some have had some tube noise problems with the Aesthetix. Not me, or two of my immediate friends. Yet I realize by the threads of A'gon that it exists. Both Stereophile and The Absolute Sound have recently reviewed these units and li... |
