Willow wept ON ME
It was a flaw with the wall current power during the mastering. Today I received my replacement copy of sides C & D. everyone should have gotten one who was subscribed and/or requested one. It happens. Acoustic Sounds will make good on it for ...
Preamps for Atma-Sphere OTL Amplifiers
I have been employing an Aesthetix Calypso and Rhea with my MA-1 Silvers now for just short of four years and find them delightful. The detail, air, and greater level of volume control are all advantages of this choice. Atma-Sphere has more and be...

Listened to my '82 JN red wax Odeon Rubber soul and found the vocals on the right side and instruments on the left. Sounds great.Happy Listening!

Stereophile or Absolute Sound
I miss Listener, in that they followed one of the most important tenets of Hifi review editing... Don't take yourself too seriously. My vote for a currently circulating pub. though would be Hifi+, I'm afraid.Happy Listening!

Here is a Link to some great old links on AudioGon about system shelves or platforms. Much of this ground just keeps being discovered and rehashed endlessly. Hope you all find this of some value.http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?ymisc&11...
Maple or Granite
Has anyone tried as an alternative to maple, (laminated) bamboo like say, cutting board products? They are starting to show up in the U.S. market place and bamboo is about 18% harder than maple in a lamination. I have no idea where that puts the r...

Maple or Granite
Rbirke, For my Linn Sondek the Neuance platform has been the best also, not coincidentally it is rigid and light weight which is exactly what Linn prescribes. I don't know if would work for the Voyd though, but certainly worth a try.Happy Listening!
Any experience with the new Linn Sondek upgrades?
typo: that's a "wee" dram of Scotch, to quote Sir Ivor Tiefenbrun. :^)
Maple or Granite
I have another variation of Dgarretson/Cmk ideas combined but with spikes or isolation bearings between the maple on top and the granite on the bottom, and TT directly on the maple. That will keep the design coupled. I have mono block tube power a...

Some good points you make Newmanoc about tone arms and cartridges. I too posses an Akiva and find it to be so revealing. It does everything well and is a very quiet (surface noise/groove) rider. Actually Scan-Tech makes both Lyra and the Akiva but...

I think Art Dudley of Stereophile, who is also a long time owner of the Sondek Lp12, summed it up quite nicely in the October issue.
