What age did the "audio bug" hit you? It all started in the beginning, no I am not talking about the Big Bang but when I was about 5. I remember the early years when my father used to play music on his Grundig Radiogram. The equipment fascinated me. Looking at the black shiny disks sp...

Paradigm Monitor 5v2 - Studio 40 v3 - worth it? Speedball,You could check out the Audio Analogue models which I thought sounded terrific with my 40 v2's. I had them connected to the Puccini SE Remote.

Anyone know anything about Eleanor McEvoy? Nrchy,You seem to have evaluated the album in the right context as what I read also had something very similar to say about the Early Hours. I will come back when I finally get to hear it.
Anyone know anything about Eleanor McEvoy? I read somewhere that her latest album is even better than Yola, but, I have not heard it so dunno. I will get the disc eventually than will know for sure. Anyway Yola is a great album in its own right.
What do you think of the Quad 909? I have driven Maggies as well as my current speakers which are Kef Reference Two with my 606II which sounds great and in fact better than the Krell 300i, the 909 is supposedly a much better amp than 606II so it should be a no brainer going for it.

System building -budget $15,000 Tim,Thanks a lot, but the idea of buying a birthday gift means you buy brand new and not second hand, it would look foolish on anyones part giving a present which is second hand. :)
System building -budget $15,000 Thanks guys for the input.Bundy: agreed auditioning is one way but the components selected make it difficult to go to one shop for auditioning.Marco: The speakers selected for the reason that my friend is familiar with Proacs sound and thinks very... |
