Music out there with good bass
Anything by the Cowboy Junkies. They seem to elevate the bass in their recordings. May I suggest One Soul Now. It reminds me of a Cowboy Junkies CD with Neil Young on it although it's only the guitar player who sounds a hell of a lot like him.

I too like Man but my favorite recording is the live set "Maximum Darkness." John Cippolina's guitar work is really tasty.

The early Roxy Music is definitly Progressive rock. Look who played keyboards Brian Eno,there were songs that were long and afforded them time to solo and the keyboards were from moog to piano. We should google Progressive rock because half the ba...
Your favorite prog rock music? ?
Also the term progressive rock was coined in response to groups that started to write longer songs which allowed the musicians to play solo's on their instruments. Kind of like Rock n Roll's response to improvisation in jazz.
Your favorite prog rock music? ?
I think someone needs to define Progresive Rock. I always felt it was when other elements or styles of music were introduced to Rock n Roll. Example side two of King Crimson's Lizard or Moody Blues Days of Futures past.

Between Jobs? What do you do for a living... Music Critic? No really thanks for a great recap,Parsons always took pride in the sound of his recordings something all audiophiles should be thankful for. I picked up all the early stuff from I Robot t...
Overlooked R & R gems from the past
Coming on the heels of two albums jam packed with FM fodder was Panorama by The Cars. This was more edgy and did not sell and was in the cut out bin by year end. It is my favorite Cars album more punk than the previous two and they went back to fo...
Discovering New Music.....
I think you would enjoy the first 3 Cowboy Junkie albums but start with Trinity Sessions and then The Caution Horses then their FIRST album Whites Off Earth Now.The first 10,000 Manics album will give you a hint of what Natalie Merchant was about ...
Silicone for Tri-Planer damping trough
I have an ET 2.5 and I don't use silicone in my damping trough anymore. I was told to use Mobil Synthetic oil 5w-30w viscosity and it works great, actually better than silicone and a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to find.
Alternative air pumps for ET2
I use both a Wisa pump and the stock ET pump in tandem and run it into a homemade surge tank(a five gallon plastic gas can with aquarium stuffing inside). From there i use an inline filter to my 2.5. Sounds great and have had no problems with it. ...
Morph The Cat : Revisited
I believe "Nightfly" owns the distinction of being the first Digital recording in RnR history. Maybe I should revisit it but adjust the VTA cause I remember the vocals being harsh.
