Monster Cable Alpha - 1 Your welcome and you would not be disappointed in the 2000. Worth every penny but make sure you Mc stage has the gain for it.
The Band: S/T and/or Music from the Big Pink When Big Pink came out I never warmed up to it maybe because I bought it after I bought their second album which blew me away.In High school there were a few people who dug The Band,I think we considered us a cult. But now Big Pink is one of two a...
The Band: S/T and/or Music from the Big Pink Yeah I just bought the mfsl copy of Big Pink and tell The Band too. The Band is my favorite album by them.Jericho is a fantastic recording by them too but I'm not sure if it is available on vinyl. The cd sounds fantastic.
How do you respond to this question? It's part of my life. I have spent more time in my life looking for and buying vinyl since jr. high. Today I listened to an album I have owned for over 40 years and it still sounded pretty good. I listen to CD'S to and own quite a few and yes toda...
Extraordinary recordings on vinyl Turn of a friendly card Japanese pressing is outstanding but a Alan Parsons Pyramid Japanese pressing is in the same league sound wise. Also the Japanese pressing of Band of GGypsy's is killer to. It's the cover with a doll figure of Jimi. It blows...

The Band: S/T and/or Music from the Big Pink Steer clear of the recent Capitol really issues. They suck period. I thought Big Pink was recorded in Woodstock in The Band's studio hence the name of the album since their studio was dubbed Big Pink.
Monster Cable Alpha - 1 The Alpha series had a very hot high register like most early moving coil cartridge. This was addressed in the Alpha Genesis series. The 2000 model is what you should be looking for and I see them NOS for around 400 to 500 on occasion.
Feedback on Monster Alpha 2 Cartridge Your assessment of how old a cartridge is vs. How it stacks up to current models is right on the mark. I bought a 1989 NOS SUMIKO TALISMAN VIRTUOSO TITANIUM that simply throws a huge Soundstage with pacing and bass. Anyone that knows of this cartr...

Extraordinary recordings on vinyl So many things affect Soundstage from associated equipment to room acoustics to proper toe in of speakers. In one of your posts I commented on adjusting the VTA of your tone arm for the optimum sound from your table. It is key and that is the reas...
