Most Important? I think the source is important (the recording most of all)but that diffences between CD players is relatively minor compared with difference between speakers - That is diminishing returns start rather low with digital equipment IMHO, so I think a...
Atma-Sphere MA2 Mk2.3 / Krell KSA 250 / Passlabs? Good luck Che13, when the Atma can drive a speaker, they are pretty hard amps to beat. I most recently had the CAT JL2 and Pass XA30.5, both wonderful amps, but I kept the Atma-spheres -- of course, my speakers are a great match for the M60s.
Music Reference RM9 and Preamp Experiences I wonder about a pre since Roger is fairly adamant that no active pre will work better than a passive, like his Pot-in-a-Box - which I admit does work pretty well, especially for #135!! I've used some pretty good preamps (CAT, Lamm, ARC, Joule, Pl...
best interconnects and power cables for Ayre Perhaps the D1 can be bettered, but I think it is pretty darn good RedBook player; especially in the context of an all Ayre system. I would certainly audition the CX5 before assuming it will be an improvement for you and your ears. I would think t...
Which integrated Amp for Vandersteen 2ce Sig2 ? art80342, did you audition the Pass Integrated?
Best looking Amp/Preamp/Integrated? Ars Sonum integrated with gold faceplate. The Art Audio stuff is beautiful, and last but not least, the Dodd Audio Battery preamp with wood panels and mirrored steel top plate. Oh, yeah Accustic Arts gear.
Music Reference RM9 and Preamp Experiences I will certainly look into the Wright; giant killers I like. Seems like they are designed with no nonsense engineering with little hyperbole.
Music Reference RM9 and Preamp Experiences Will do, thank you Dusty.
Music Reference RM9 and Preamp Experiences I know there are a few thousand of you out there that own the RM9s or RM200s....
RMAF 2008 - Your impressions,... A very good point about "getting to know" the reviewer (professional of A'gon). I clearly like soft dome tweeters (Merlin, Harbeth, Wilson Benesch ,etc)and two-way speakers. I too experience rooms that make my ears bleed and that others find wonde...
What amp should be used with merlin vsm's? Bobby a while back (earlier this thread) you mentioned the Manley Snappers which use the EL34 for tube which you have said elsewher you like (and found in the Ars Sonum); have you had any experience directly or through your customers with EL84 bas...
RMAF 2008 - Your impressions,... Jazdoc, you are right about the best room in the show, shouold become an annual gathering. One room I forgot to mention, must be the jetlag, was the Atma-sphere room with the Classic T1 speakers; I have never heard symphonic music done so well. I ...
RMAF 2008 - Your impressions,... I neglected to mention the Avalons, they sounded might fine indeed. Also the Harbeth M40s driven by McIntosh sounded fantastic too. The Apogee Divas were very good as well - I wasn't aware that Apogee speakers were still being made. They were driv...
Ayon Audio Spirit integrated amp Any other folks heard this integrated since the last post?
RMAF 2008 - Your impressions,... Just got home. The show help me realize that I am unlikely to ever change from my Merlins which remain the speakers that sound best to me for my room and the kind of music I listen to (chamber, small jazz combos, acoustic folk, bluegrass etc.) Wha... |
