Omega Speaker Set up questions
Thanks Corelli, LOL.....should have known better....these are in a second system as well.  Yesterday took them out to my outbuilding and hooked them up to a little WiiM streamer amp and let them run for 24 hours at a 75db or so clip....after bein...
Omega Speaker Set up questions
Thx all...sunshdw, unfortunately this is not a dedicated room and long wall is it.  Second system and I've had several setups in there that sounded very good. Corelli....unfortunately I've had other speakers thru there without an issue.  I've bee...
klipsch cornwall iv upgraded crossovers
Thanks Mofojo, I'm pretty good at speaker placement....these happened to end up at 5' off the frontt wall, 10' tweeter center to tweeter center toed in at approx 6" off each shoulder.  I sit 12' from speaker line and 17 feet off the front wall.  ...
Decoupling for Cornwall IV's
I have been running CW IV's with the Dynamat dampening upgrade as well as the VCap Odum and Path Audio Resistors per Don Sachs suggestions.  I love these speakers!  I still find the bass to be just OK, plenty of it, just a bit flabby and undefined...

Help me pick some new or used speaker cables
I have tried most of the "high end" name brands and once I found Silversmith Audio Fidelums.....game over.  Well with in your price point new.  ONLY cable I ever purchased that sounded great right out of the box and simply got better with hours.
Preamp advice
I also run a MC275VI with modded Cornwall IV's.  I tried a number of tube pre amps starting with a C2300, then C500T, both were blown out of the water by a Modwright LS100.  To say I was shocked is an understatement.  I could have easily lived wit...
Don Sachs Owners Thread
Hello All! Curious....any DS II owners experimenting with footers?  Don's cases are all wood, including the bottom cover.  On my pre's I have always used 3" maple platforms and Symposium Acoustics Svelte Shelf Plus.  Typically footers have been S...
Ethernet opinions
Sorry for your loss.  Been there.  I spent a year exploring and implementing that whole digital delivery side....ended up with piggy backed switches, SOtM dbcl Cat6 cables between tem and to my Lumin server.....but to your situation.  I had to use...
Upgrade to McIntosh
I have been a long time McIntosh fan and have run MC352, MC601's, MC75 III, and currently MC275VI.  Surprisingly, a Don Sachs II pre amp absolutely out performed my beloved C500T pre amp.  Suspect 6SN7 based system is just better than 12AX7 to my ...
Don Sachs Owners Thread
Hello all, Took delivery of a DS II about 6 weeks ago.  First off, Don is a great guy.  Love the pre, replaced a Modwright LS100 which is also great.  Don's has more detail and more punch.   As a dedicated tube roller I have most 6sn7's in house ...
Cheapest but good cables….
I recently purchased and am running a Don Sachs II preamp.  Love it.  Dons' pre amps do not run a balanced out put so I need a RCA interconnect.  Don recommended a cable called Ice Age Audio.  As a cable snob, I reluctantly ordered a four foot RCA...
Tube Integrated Under 1,500
+1 on the Willsenton R8.  I too wanted to experiment with an all tube integrated and after a thorough search of reviews, forums and comparative findings, chose the R8.  The build quality is absolutely top notch, which is unanimously pointed out in...
Looking for warm tube preamp (should pair well with Pass power amp), budget $6000
Surprised nobody has suggested the Modwright LS100.  I have owned and run McIntosh C2300, C500T and the Aesthetix Calypso Sig and I prefer the LS100.  I run NOS Melz 1578(6SN7) tubes and NOS Mullard GZ37 Fat Bottle and the sound is magical.  Curre...
Simplifying my main rig and looking for cable suggestions
I have built a second system that I seem to be spending more time with.  Much simpler and cost effective, but in a much larger room that presents everything in better scale.  My McIntosh rig is in a highly treated but very small (15'6" x 10' 6") r...
