MIT continued experience
The network boxes for some of the the MA-X series cables have separate adjustments for high and low, but the outputs are not labeled as such.
Ground 'box' what's in them?
The Entreq boxes are effective tweaks- they have a beneficial effect, noticeable but subtle. If they cost less than a major component upgrade, I would say they are worth it.
MIT continued experience
That's not correct. The components in the network boxes are wired in parallel with the signal cable. One of the points of having a network box is to have correct signal(s) at all frequencies.
Michael Fremer's record cleaning process....
Maybe its Art Dudley that uses the Keith Monks machine. I get them mixed up sometimes. Sorry 'bout that.
Ground 'box' what's in them?
Boxes like Acoustic revive and Entreq contain a mixture of solids, presumably "minerals". The problem is that most homes are inadequately grounded. In Arizona where I live, I'm sure that the outside ground bar is embedded in bone dry dirt. So thos...
Michael Fremer's record cleaning process....
I think he's moved on to a Keith Monks machine.
Has anybody tried using single solid core cables?
A good solid core cable can be competitive with a midrange stranded cable. But in the upper levels of performance, stranded cables rule. Some would say that the top level solid core Audioquest is competitive with the best Nordost, Cardas, MIT, Pur...
MIT continued experience
I recently compared interconnects: MIT MA-X and Cardas Clear versus my old Audioquest Sky. I'm going with the MIT. The sound staging of the MIT is addictive.
Is DEQX a game changer?
DEQX is a lot of time and expense. The whole point of going through that is to get correct output from one's transducers. That requires outdoor meaurement. Without correct setup, I personally don't think its worth the effort.
Is DEQX a game changer?
Al, outdoor measurement is mandatory, IMO. With the help of two people, we moved TAD Reference1 (almost 400 lb apiece) and four monoblock amps from my listening room to my driveway. We used a dolly, easily purchased on the internet. If you are wil...
Did Redbook get it right?
There's nothing wrong with Redbook. If its good enough for Manfred Eicher, its good enough for everyone.
audiophiles or retrophiles
You're welcome!
audiophiles or retrophiles
I own a ton of vinyl, as well as many CD's, SACD's, and digital downloads, and I have no preference. The fact that there are so many adherents for either or both indicates that there is no superior format. It simply pales in importance, in compari...
Is it live or is it?
Touche!
Horning owners what amps have you used?
They are really nice speakers. I wonder how my old ones compare to the new model with the curved cabinets.
