What's good used 5.1pre/pro for $1500 or less I second the Anthem AVM-2. I owned one for over two years ans moved to the AVM-20. It was a lateral move. Also, they have a pass through for stereo listening.Good luck,
PC to DAC to PreAmp dividox,Sounds like a sweet setup. I heard the creek/epos equipment at the Show and was impressed when it was setup properly. Now, the woman running the demo has a little cold.Enjoy,
How do I design a home audio system? I've yet to find somebody who's tried the mic. I'm real curious to see how it works taming bad rooms. Thanks,
How do I design a home audio system? Slappy,I just program the home automation stuff. Too old, to beat up to do anything else. Most of these expensive systems use a lot of midfi equipment. Most of the money goes into making really easy to use and hiding the equipment. For the most pa...

Ribbon tweeters/speakers recommendations Please drrdiamond,Check out the Martin-Logan Montage and Mosiac loudspeakers. They use something called an AFT tweeter. From its tech description, it looks like a ribbon tweeter to me. Yes, I do know the difference between an elestatic and a ribbon speak...
How do I design a home audio system? Less crappy Slappy hit it right on the head. I do some work for a custom installer, including typing the occasional proposal, and your going to need at least $400 per room for a impedence match volume control and a pair of crappy speakercraft in-w...
Ribbon tweeters/speakers recommendations Please Let me clarify; he is looking for speakers that use ribbon tweeters, not full size panels. So, this rules out Magnapan and the big Martin-Logans. The full size panels will not work in his room (WAF).Speakers he is considering so far include the ba...

Best of Home Entertainment 2004 NY ? Just a note. I didn't get to all the rooms. I missed about 6 including JMlabs and Von Schweikert. Some rooms had lines down the hallway and I just didn't have time.
Best of Home Entertainment 2004 NY ? First, let me say that you can't really seriously evaluate equipment at the show because your listening in a tiny hotel room or a large meeting room. In addition, people are walking around and talking while your trying to listen. I love the people...
Who Would Have Thought? Dewalt has had a similiar product available for a few years. Charges your cordless tool batteries while you annoy the neighbors with loud music
Regarding people selling equipment to U.S.A. only Shipping to other countries has been a nightmare. First, custom forms are a pain in the a__. Then, the package usually gets held in customes for a long time. Finally, sometimes buyers refuse to pay the duties. I've been stuck twice paying the duties.
How many years before MP3 becomes king? The purpose of MP3 was to allow you to compress music files because storage space was expensive. Also, to allow faster downloads over dialup connections. Now with big cheap harddrives, cheap memory cards, and broadband who needs MP3? I'm sitting h...
