Best vale for money CD Player in $2000-3000 price There was this exact post yesterday I would search. But I would vote for the Cary 303/300. Get the best of both world tube and SS and upsmapleing. I have this player and love it.
Again, recommended CDPs for $2K-$3.5K I ahve the cary 303/300 I think at this point you have to find what fits the system the best. I liked the cary because I changed all my cables to silver and I was able to upgrade the putput tubes to match it to the sound I wanted. You can also pla...
Burned out hi fi salesman Find another enthusiast. I sort of agree it is all good 5% or so on it own, with some exceptions but it is not so much how each component will work on itÂ’s on but how you blend them together that makes the magic. For example a nice cable may work ...
Cable protection Depends on the cable. I tried doing this with tec flex and binding my by wire speaker cables together. It sounded muddy when I seprated them it was much better. Now that is speakers I do not know how other cables will react. I woud guess if they a...
Computers and audio, perhaps its too soon I know someone who had a huge bill after there computer was rendered useless because of this. Sony should reimburse these people. The amount of money dumped into this stuff could feed another nation? They stopped SACD and other high quality medium...
High End User Interface for PC Audio put the PC in a nice case or hide it right behind your preamp! Then use VNC, windows remote, etc to remote control the screen like you were there off of a tablet pc which will make it like a big touch screen remote you can use anywhere in the hous...
Are there any pre-amps with optical inputs? Do what I did I just used my receiver for 5.1 and use a tube pre amp with a HT bypass. Best of both worlds and you wind up with more inputs.
Do speakers have to "warm-up" too? Yea things move better. Also don't forget Audioquest theory that the cables also have to worm up, hence there batt pack to keep them "worm"
Amps for Vandersteen 3A Signature SS or Tube? I would disaggree I think the tubes are better vansersteen are laid back and very detailed. I find with SS it makes them a bit harsh Tubes are just smoother and flow the muxic better. Then again I never had 3 I had 2cesig and now 5a's. I would go ...
Vandersteen 5A's...about to take the plunge I got black figured they would match anything and it makes the speaker look small. I find the funney thing is that the hardest part of making my speaker decision after listening to many brands was what color to get the Vandersteen 5 in.
spikes for speakers or something else? I would get a big heavy piece of marble or wood that covers the whole speaker base and spike it to that. That is usally the best solution. Spikes in carpet will do very little. Islotion solutions are not bad eithor but you have to find the one tha...
Vandersteen Upgrade Path Wow tuff situation. I like the idear of going to the threes. I talked to alot of people when I had my 2cesig and got the 2w. The people with the 3 would not for the most part use the 2w becase they thought the bass was good enought. Not quite as g...
Why do new cables needs to be "broken" ??? Here we go again.... I use to think it didn't make a difference and it didn't in my old system. Since I now have higher end equipnment I can definally tell a new cable it is very apparent. I do not know the sicience behind it but by using it it te...
Amplifier for Vandersteen 5A' s ? I have the 5A's and I think the best bang for the buck that match that speaker perfect is the amp that Richard vandersteen and I use the Quicksilver v4. I had rca switched to balanced and think it is woth the upgrade. They are very low maintance t...
Speaker Spikes Spiking down on carpet is not the best I would try putting down some slabs og granet or something like that and placing the spikes on that. usally different types of spikes once spiked right make little difference. |
