External DAC? Alright, the RME arrived this morning. And after hours of A/B testing, I have decided to keep the RME and return the Benchmark. To my ears, the difference was marginal (Dac3 > Rme) and in ways I can’t even properly explain. Something about the ...
External DAC? The Benchmark Dac 3 HGC arrived today. Boy, what an improvement over the node, simply blew it out of the waters. Rme is arriving tomorrow. Can’t wait to compare the two. Will let you know which one I decide to keep. My wallet hopes that it will be...
External DAC? Thanks everyone for the inputs, I really appreciate it. Based on your comments and subsequent research, I have ordered the RME ADI 2 and the Benchmark Dac3. I'm going to keep one and return the other based on how to they sound to my ears. Which...
Marantz PM Ki Ruby vs Musical Fidelity M6si guys, if you’re using spikes you have to check out the herbie’s puck gliders. Not only do they make moving speakers super easy but also improve the sonics substantially. As far as I’m concerned, this is it for me.perhaps, I may get a turntable at ...
Marantz PM Ki Ruby vs Musical Fidelity M6si @jl35 i just ordered the Herbie’s puck gliders to use under my spikes. Hope they live up to the hype. Cheers
Digital Coax, optical, or RCA for use with my Bluesound Node player? Try the silnote digital coax. Extremely well built (US) and sounds beautiful. It’s on sale right now for their 10th anniversary. Great deal!
Marantz PM Ki Ruby vs Musical Fidelity M6si @jl35 thanks for your response. Any recommendation for feet under the Dali spikes? I don’t want to damage the floor but at the same time don’t want to compromise on sound quality either. I was consider the herbie’s pucks but there are several opt...
Any love for Musical Fidelity integrateds? I have tried the MF5si and absolutely loved it. The sonics were exactly as you described. I ended up buying the marantz pm ki ruby, considerably more expensive. In my setup, it ended up a bit bright every now and then on some recordings. So I need...
Marantz PM Ki Ruby vs Musical Fidelity M6si @p3ga funny coz I just ordered the canare 4311 after a lot of research, and turns out it’s your recommendation.I’m absolutely loving the amplifier. It’s opening up nicely, I can already hear a great deal of difference. Highs and mids are opening u...
Marantz PM Ki Ruby vs Musical Fidelity M6si @p3ga guess what.. I got the Pm ki ruby. Arrived yesterday and I have spent a few hours with it.initial impressions, nothing ( and I mean literally nothing) sounds harsh at even very high volumes. Treble is definitely rolled off but there’s still...
Marantz PM Ki Ruby vs Musical Fidelity M6si @p3ga thanks for the detailed review. Funny enough, I have a very similar setup. I use the node 2i for streaming but is hooked to a marantz sa8005. I bypass the node dac and what a pleasant difference it has made. Everything is so much more musica...
BlueSound Node 2i > RME ADI2 DAC > NAD 316 BEE v2 > Dali Rubicon 5 (volume too high) @adj101 awesome, I think I get it now. Gonna play around with it and settle for what sounds best to me. Thanks
BlueSound Node 2i > RME ADI2 DAC > NAD 316 BEE v2 > Dali Rubicon 5 (volume too high) @adg101 thanks again for the detailed response. Guess what, I had the entry level NAD 316 bee v2 that I have returned. And I’m not considering a big upgrade on my amplifier. Likely going to settle with either musical fidelity M6si or the marantz ...
Marantz PM Ki Ruby vs Musical Fidelity M6si @corelli.. thanks again. Just checked out your photos. What a beautiful listening room you got. Wish I had a dedicated room. Mine’s a living room setup so you can imagine the whole host of acoustic problems I am having to deal with. Next up, I wan...
BlueSound Node 2i > RME ADI2 DAC > NAD 316 BEE v2 > Dali Rubicon 5 (volume too high) @oddiofyl im a bit confused. So you’re suggesting that I disable the Auto Ref Output? If so what should be the ref output -15db? Also, what should be the volume? Should I lock the volume at 0 dB? Sorry if I’m asking silly questions. Thanks |
