What are the "new" brands in amps and pre-amps
They are not really new, have been around for many years but are still relatively unknown is Bakoon Products. Amazing sounding solid state amps that are quite beguiling. They sound so right. The little 15 watt integrated drives my Tannoys really w...
KENWOOD KA-9100
I have sourced some parts for my ka 6100 off eBay. Can't remember the sellers name now but he had lots of Kenwood parts. Some may be interchangeable between models.Cheers Dave.
Kenwood L1000D Cd Player Inquiry
I should add that these seem to be quite rare at least in Australia, and are highly collectable by Kenwood enthusiasts. The pre and power combo sound really good and would put much newer gear to shame. I've had the signal path caps replaced in the...
Kenwood L1000D Cd Player Inquiry
I have the complete Kenwood L1000 system. The cdp is a beast of a player, it weighs about 15 kg and is really big, mine was made in 91. I think that it sounds better than my Creek Evo cdp, which is an ok player. I'm yet to try it with my new dac a...
Perfect Debute Albums
Laura Marling - Alas I cannot swim. Unbelievable debut album for someone so young.

No problem, hope it doesn't cost you too much trying different cables but it really is the best way to find out what works best for you. Cheers
need your help again.............
I thought the cobras were great until I heard the xlo, so my advice would be , if you don't have much spare cash go for the cobra but if you have a little more keep the xlo in mind. But at the end of the day try as many cables as you can and buy w...
need your help again.............
I used to have audioquest king cobra but swapped it out with xlo reference ic's .More defined bass more detail and just better in my system. All my cables bar two are xlo and this has been a very positive step. Hope this helps.
looking for an "all in one" unit.
Naim uniti its a bit pricey but it sounded awesome when a heard it on some cheap paradigm standmounts. I think it ticks all the boxes and is ready to go for computer audio as well. Not sure about all the specs but I think you should check it out.
What are the alternatives for Kimber and Cardas?
I would try xlo . Reference series and up , I think they are great cables but ultimately it's up to you and what you like.
Monitors for Large Room
I have heard some ushers with simaudio integrateds and wasn't real keen on it. I ended up with a pair of tannoy revolution signature dc6 monitors, my room is roughly the same size as yours and my speakers are in roughly the same place as yours wil...
Tweaks I'd like to see . . .
Ncarv I agree an audiophile woman I think is the ultimate tweak for me. My girlfriend thinks that her grandmas 20 year old akai midi system with turntable sounds just as good as my current system. My audio related disposable income would increase ...
Amazing ''Overachieving'' products...your pick?
I think that my Cambridge 650A integrated is a really good buy, I bought mine used for $450 Australian dollars. It's not the best amp in the world and I'm looking to upgrade soon but it does a whole lot right for the money. I sometimes forget that...
