Why so little discussion about Snell ?
Ah Snell Acouostics! The company name brings back fond memories of my Snell A2i's. They were such a great speaker for me, that I too wondered why they are not on of the most sound after quality speakers on the market. When I blew up a driver (pilo...
Postal Money Order versus Bank Money Order ???
I am somewhat of an infrequent seller/buyer. I typically request if I can purchase by personal check and agree to wait for my check to clear before seller ships the item. As a seller, I would MUCH prefer to wait until ANY payment type I receive ha...
Melos Audio Restoration going strong...
Bravo Mooncrikit. True character of an individual becomes obvious over time.I also have had the pleasure of dealing with MELOS AUDIO RESTORATION. They did an upgrade to my MA-333. I was very happy with their little company. Hope you enjoy your Mel...
would this Deter you from buying used gear????
To answer the question, yes it would be a negative to me buying it. I am not sure of the value of engraving anything with a serial number. Is the S/N not in itself a unique ID? My brother tells me he video tapes all of his valuables and gets a clo...
A serious blow to Canadian audiophiles, must read
I tried it, but did not inhale!
Going to take the plunge.
The Decware Zen amps should be on everyone's short list of SET amps. Very reasonably priced and the sound is truley magical. Also, for the SET crowd, the Hornshoppe Horn's clearly outclass the Coincident Triangle' IMO.Taking the tube dip can be an...
warmer pre-amp for Adcom GFA 555II
Hi Gabus,Have you considered a different IC? Not sure what you are using now for an IC, but a swap may indeed take the edge off the brightness.Best of luck, Paul
Its time to try a tube amp...
Hello Raanan,I am also a bit surprised that you have not gotten any feedback. After reading your post, I am not quite sure what you are hoping to do. Although I am far from the ultimate expert, you should be able to use the preamp outputs for use ...
Pi Speakers
I did quite a bit of looking around for a DYI kit. Pi seemed by all accounts to be a GREAT value. I am currently building the 2Pi Towers. I have heard lots of great comments on them.
Lowthers - Please educate a village idiot...
I was interested in the Lowther's and did some research. During my travels, I found this site:http://www.audioasylum.com/forums/lowther/menu.htmlIt may be of interest to those following this thread.best wishes in your project Joe!Paul
Do the Audio gods shine upon you?
I guess I am from the camp of 'the glass is half empty'. I sometimes sit down and nothing seems to excite me. I know which CD's are 'lifeless' and do not even play them on my main rig. After surfing on a few songs, I turn it off. Not sure why. May...
integrated tube reccommendations
Hi Jlamb, I own a Decware Integrated SET amp. Only 7 Watts, but it blows away anything I have yet owned or heard. You will need speaker efficiency of at least 92 db to consider it. Good luck, Paul
Where does your user name come from?
Pretty simple for me: first, middle initials and last name.Paul M. Woodward
Why do people selling on E Bay "USE" Audiogon?
I think the advantage with Audiogon is that it is a smaller community. You sort of get to know the integrity of each other. At least more so than Ebay. So many itemes on Ebay state, 'plugged it in and the unit powers up, but not tested any further...
