alex those Junior Mance clips are really good. Mance is an underrated pianist. I have a few of his recordings but not Groovin' Blues. That album has some great music on it. I just ordered it from cd japan.

nspI can relate with you on Metheny. His musical direction can be a tad to much on the "new world" or "free" genre (I believe Ornette Coleman was a big influence on Metheny). The session with Holland and Hays is grounded a little more in the tradi...

nsp Metheny played those 2 songs to perfection! I really like Carly’s live version at Jones Beach Too. I think Carly Simon's vocals are beautiful.

Bobby Broom is another great guitarist from the newer generations. I think he and Bernstein started recording professionally around the same time in the 80's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65SVAvRgfcQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZflF4c7Mdk

frogman I knew about Martino's car accident and how he had to "learn" to play again. I have seen him a few times and he is a very small and frail man. Maybe 130 pounds soaking wet. I have a photo of him and I together and I remember when we put ea...

Thanks for the input 8944 but my post never says they can play both equally does it?What I said was that they can, if they chose, play both.

I believe all guitarists can play acoustic. Just play the same way they normally do with an electric guitar and amp with an acoustic guitar and no ampHere is one example of a top echelon guitarist playin "unplugged"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Schubert that is a hollow body electric guitar Pass is playing. Just as Wes was playing a hollow body electric guitar in the previous links. I'm sure both could also play "unplugged" (acoustic) just as well. Here is a great version of Stardust feat...
