Townshend Maximum Supertweeters
I'm far less impressionable than you insinuate. The 44.1k is in reference to the Nyquist theorem, i'll assume you're familiar with it.Despite being a postulate more than a theorem, it continues to govern the slope of digital filtering applied to t...
Townshend Maximum Supertweeters
Understood, and agree. Convert is a better term here than recover. My assertion is that a supertweeter could only provide an improvement when the mastered sample rate exceeds 44.1, where the filtering can be applied more gently and allow some of t...

Miller Carbon. Maybe my question wasn't well phrased; I'm not questioning our ability to hear ultrasonic content, or the effect it might have on the 20-20k frequencies. My question asks "isnt (all) the ultrasonic content stripped out in the A-to-D...
Townshend Maximum Supertweeters
I only stream content, and I'm intrigued by the prospect of adding these, but I'm struggling to understand how these devices can produce any ultrasonic content when - correct me if I'm wrong - ultrasonic content is filtered out in the the A-to-D p...
Has anyone added a Master Clock to UpTone EtherREGEN Yet? It’s Insane!
Im very interested in this subject, as I only stream music (Qobuz), and am looking to begin optimizing the digital signal chain. But I'm having difficulty conceiving of improvements being so drastic, because the improvements as described appear to ...
Where are the young audiophiles?
The market is evolving away from brick and mortar, with direct to consumer, active speakers, and lifestyle type components. The latter two is a response to the younger generation being less interested in audio as a serious hobby, but a group noneth...
CD or Streaming... am I missing out?
The streaming process is prone to loss that CD's dont have, because it involves a more complicated delivery chain to get the bytes to the DAC - which involves traveling through your network EQ that introduces noise and bit-timing issues to the DAC.
How to damper booming bass...
I haven't tried it but i recall reading a principal from (I believe) Magico recommending dacron polyester in the bass ports. Who would be so bold as to say he doesn't know what he's talking about?
Detecting differences among cables
Skeptics and naysayers can’t be convinced of anything beyond their existing views and perceptions, which are almost always negative and built on a lack of knowledge or familiarity with the subject. So why waste time with them, it’s their loss.
'Life Above 20kh' Research Paper, Harmonics (Overtones)
I think  rauliruegas1's point  is can't be overstated - that we don't just hear music, we experience it, and that means through all the senses and faculties within the human mechanism.Science is a long long way from being able to measure all the ...
Everything Matters With Digital
I like learning the engineering level, but logic alone will lead you to conclude that digital will always introduce loss, unless and until science is able to measure, deconstruct and reconstruct EVERY characteristic that causes us to experience (n...
What integrated should I upgrade to?
I would consider the Cambridge Audio 851A and 851N integrated and DAC if you're generally happy with the CX. I found significant improvements upgrading both amp and DAC to their Ajur line for reasonable money.
