10 Levels of Turntable Mastery Does a foot broke by a 90 pound platter count for anything, or is that just entry into the Darwin Awards?Grimace, before enlightenment, clean records, adjust VTA; after enlightenment, clean records, adjust VTA.
Rega RB300 arm & Sumiko Blackbird - good match? Paulfolbrecht,I assume then that you experimented with VTA?
How do you level your turntable? 04rdking,good point, but, actually, ideally you want to level both the arm and the platter, neither of which might be aligned with the plinth.
How do you level your turntable? The plinth is not necessarily in line with the platter unless you have confirmed that it is.

Good Analog EQ 3'8" from you to the axis of the speakers but 6' to each speaker. How did the bass improve? If this is too disconcerting try 5 feet from the back wall. This'll probably work very well for you if the other was too much.
Good Analog EQ Measurements should be made from just behind the center of the woofer cone. The Aeriels shouldn't have a dip in the midrange. It's more likely that the room nodes in the bass are eclipsing it. 15db humps in the mid bass due to room/positioning are...
