Virgo user need advice for matching subwoofer?
I have owned the REL storm and have two audio physics lunas. The REL is a fine sub but the Luna is much better. I haven't heard the Rhea but I am sure it is another step up. I got the Luna's because I wanted stereo subs and cost wise and size wise...

Shearwater efficiency?
I haven't owned Shearwaters but I have owned hot rod kestrels and hot rod herons. They were both very easy to drive as I believe the Shearwaters are. I think I would find another salesman to get advice from. The Kestrels and I understand, the Shea...
CD Player Modifications. Is it worth the ?
Sean is right. It can make a big difference but I don't think the platform you have is something I would invest a lot of money in. I have seen Audio Note CD2's go for $500 to $600 used and I think you would be way ahead with something like that ov...
Musical Design Pre Amp
I have been pretty impressed with my musical design pre amp. I also found John who is Musical Design to be very responsive. Why don't you give him a call or email?
Where can I buy Monitor Audio speakers on the web?
I think Natalie has a point. I am not commenting On Monitor because I have not heard them. I am sure most of us would agree it is not a good idea to buy a speaker we haven't heard. It doesn't make a difference who recommends what, you really have ...
Cabling ideas for Meadowlark Kestrals?
I am using Nordost blue heaven and they work pretty well. Since these are biwired and a 4 meter run in a second system I am a little constrained on my choices for $ reasons. I saw a pair of shotgunned Nirvans on the site the other day and they wou...
What self powered speakers of my PC?
Ed is right the AE Aegos are pretty incredible. You can also plug a cheap cd player into them and bypass your sound card. They are excellent.
Component Video Cables
Canare work very well. Especialy the larger diameter ones don't have the number at the moment.
Any firms that do mod's to amplifiers?

Recommendations Needed: Upgrading from ARC CD-1
I didn't want to throw my two bits in on speakers since I don't know the Vandersteen sound real well. Karls has a good list particuarly the meadowlark but I would also add Alon. I am into single ended now so don't have my ARC stuff anymore but the...
Recommendations Needed: Upgrading from ARC CD-1
Kinsekd is right many things can be done to twek a cd1 not to mention a power cord. But I have to say again the difference between a vt60 and a vt100 is huge. Not just watts but quality. We all have our favorite i/c's and cables and they certainly...
Recommendations Needed: Upgrading from ARC CD-1
I agree with alberporter the ARC cd-1 is an excellent cdp. I would say your vt-60 is a much weaker spot in the chain than the cd-1. My first priority would be going to a vt-100 if you have upgrade money. You were talking in terms of 3K for a cdp a...
1700 on a whole system-could I have done better?
I am very familiar with the speakers and that is a killer deal. Probably hard to get a better integrated amp for the price. Haven't heard the digital pieces but you can get an audio note cd 2 for $600 or less used and that is one nice player. Make...
