severe limiting factor
I would have to side with Newbee on this one...as an owner of time/phase correct speakers myself...I can only say this...they are NOT space savers...part of the appeal of the time/phase sound is their SPATIAL/ATMOSPHERIC qualities...and this does ...
NAD C541i vs Music Hall CD25
I believe NAD and PSb share the same US distributor...at any rate...I have never been impressed by NAD cdps(although their amps are very good for the money)...they seem a bit flat and lack upper "air"(dark?) for my tastes...I would checkout Audioa...
under $300 bookshelfs: does excitement exist?
I would go used...just on audiogon now...B&W cdm2 se...retailed for #800..asking $350...these are very good speakers...and in my estimation...way better than the cdm line they replaced and the new 600 series...others to look for...Linn Kutans,...
Looking for a used $500-$700 amp to warm up sound
Agree with Sean...NAd power has a nice, non-fatiguing sound...that has a softer top end, a very open midrange, and a controlled bottom end...
Budget amp for Dahlquist DQ-10's

Surrounds, and center that match the GMA Europa?
Vandersteen makes a great, phasecorrect center channel...and maybe some Vandy 1cs as surrounds...one caution..the Europas are harder to drive than the Vandies...i dont know how much this will matter...contact Roy at GMA for details..good lck
denon or nad cd players opinion please
I have never been a fan of NAD cdps...a bit thin and uninvolving for my tastes...although their amps are absurdly good for the coin...in this price range I would consider a MusicHall or Cambridge audio player...both highly respected players...and ...
1st System - Help with cables
Jroth...if speed and detail are your major concerns...my vote still stands for NORDOST...have fun...it is exceptionally transparent....
Speaker wire, help my laid back sound??
If one is skeptical about the effect of speaker wire...I always recommend NORDOST...not for everyone...but definitely has the qualities you are looking for...and yes...the cheaper NORDOST is very good..look for FLATLINE...
Records of the Year 2003
Ben..what about the Darkness...cat suit, cock rock at its finest...if u like early ac/dc...this will float you boat bigtime...
You used to love it but now.......................
Tired of Led Zep...are u kiddin me? IF I grow to old listen them...somebody take me behind the wood shed...stuff that doesnt age too well...80s alt...such as Cure,Echo,Sisters of Mercy,...basically goth pop...which (ironically) is having a rebirth...
1st System - Help with cables
Good choices...the Danes are very revealing speakers...so a more a cable with a more "mellow" top end might be the ticket...and then one can add or substract nuetrality with the interconnect...that being said...I do like NOrdost products(they tend...
PMC ,Harbeth or B&W?
DB1 sounds very much like Quad 12LS i used to own...very detailed, transparent, and excellent imaging...however....like the Quads...I found them to bright and fatiguing...they both have exceptional bass for monitors...what is up with the Brits thes...
Paradigm Studio 60 vs. PSB stratus silver i
I hate to mix things up...and I am familiar with both of the speakers you mentioned(I auditioned them as well)...but in the most direct terms...these are a lateral move at best in terms of the qualities you suggested...I would contact Roy at Green...
Vandersteen-like "In-between" speakers
Before you pull the trigger...audition the Green Mountain 1.5i at 5k...I have a strong sense you will not be dissapointed...it is also Phasecorrect like the Vandies...good luck...call Roy at GReen mTn with any questions...he is one cool dude ....
