surface noise and cartridge/ phono pre questions Have to agree...analogue surface noise comes with the territory...all things being equal...it is more dependent on quality of vinyl than associatted equipment...and if I have a noisey copy of something that infringes on my listening experience I s...
Best single-malt Scotch... Balvenie 15
Lou Reed/Metallica "Lulu" just awful There is nobody who has abused his talents more than Lou...maybe rod stewart...that being said...street hassle is a lost gem...iggy solo is hit or miss....new values is amazing
Vinyl. Is it me? the producer? cartridge? Record? I tend to enjoy mid to late 70s recordings...pre digital...pre pro tools...SOTA analogue multitrack...just before 80s hated drums and heavy reverberated...but still some quirky new wave/punk twists...anything at compass studios during this era is ...
Any "Deadhead" audiophiles out there to help Shake...smart move...cc channel is key for surround...as is sub...the sub was paradigms entry level...and nowhere near your other gear imho...Ck out outlaw audio or Hsu for subs...
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? Also...if u value speed and transparency...nordost cabling really has few competitors in this regard...one of the few cables that yields immediate rewards...some have claimed its bass shy...I would claim it doesn't exaggerate bass
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? Sumaato...what exactly is missing in your current system? Nice recommendations cart wise...but nothing i would call a quantum leap above the shure...Rel has a T series that is great value...
Any "Deadhead" audiophiles out there to help Nice gear...the obvious weak spot imho is the sub...many upgrades...including paradigm themselves...the pw 2200(?) is a significant improvement...and b&w as well...good luck...u got any shows from Europe 72 box? ....highly recommended
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? Before spending mega bucks...try a new interconnect...maybe Kimberly hero...with some pristine new vinyl...if u want eek out every last bit of potential from your system...made a difference for me
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? Sumaato...u really want to change carts! Ha...what cables are you running from tt? Kimber? Your mm options are somewhat tapped...a new mc phono and a denon cart looks like an early xmas present...to yourself! Hap holidays
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? That's fine...Sumaato will have to ultimately decide...most musical reproduction is midrange reproduction which the ls 3/5s Excel at...I ended up selling my sub...but my mains at the time went lower than 3/5s...so I didn't gain/miss much...miles d...
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? I'm not familiar with that product...but 1500 will buy you a very good dedicated sub with greater bass performance...rel, velodyne,etc...however if u don't listen to bass dominant material...be aware a goof sub will offer very subtle improvements
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? Good idea...get a few hi grade vinyl releases before anything major...a tube phono pre would be nice addition...the more I think of it...there is nothing blaringly wrong with your system...a sub would add oomph but dont expect miracles
Much better MM cartridge than Shure V15 IV? My bad...didn't realise amp takes mm only...so audiofeil suggestion of phono pre is s good one...opens up other options... |
